The Wrong Brother’s Temptation

Chapter 227

Sienna

My mind was having a really hard time trying to process Connor would even touch her with a ten feet pole. But he had spent not just last night with her, called it fun, let her call me all the names possible and still continued to go wherever she was leading him.

What the fuck was wrong with him?

My rage was intensifying with every passing minute. How could he do that to me? After telling me multiple times to never even think about breaking this arrangement.

I had to catch him in the act, red handed.

I was going to stare at him and demand an explanation and an apology when he didn’t suspect in the least.

I was not returning home tonight.

With that in mind I strutted towards the door with my chin up, and reached the door just as a very large man in a black suit stepped directly into my path.

“Invitation,” he held out his hand to stop me.

“I’m already in the hotel,” I replied, breezing past the request entirely. “I’m a guest here. I can go wherever I’d like.”

“Not through this door,” he shook his head slightly. “This is invite–only”

“I’m sure there’s been some mistake.” I tried to bluff but he didn’t budge

“There is no mistake.”

“Please,” I urged, dropping the breezy act entirely, and going straight for desperately pathetic. “I just need to see someone. It’s important. It’s a…personal matter.”

“Ma’am, sorry I can’t.”

“I’ll return in a minute, I swear. I just saw my boyfriend enter the place with another woman…I need to take just one photograph as evidence”

I mixed my lie with some truth but the security guy was stoic and heartless.

“Either show me an invitation or leave or I will have to force you out,” he warned me again in the tone of a man who had said this sentence more times than he could count in the span of the last twenty four hours

itself.

I stood there growing increasingly restless as my mind raced through what Connor might be doing behind that door with Lily or whatever new girl she was bringing right now.

I imagined them already seated close for some private business meeting, her showing him some sample of Goddess knew what, and her hand on his arm the way it had been at the restaurant table.

The guard took a step forward in my direction, his hands raised while I frantically tried to come up with some wild excuse when suddenly a small group of girls arrived.

There were four of them, five maybe and they were all spilling into the lobby area in short, glittering dresses, laughing loudly about something.

They headed straight to the door I was at, one of them adjusting a strap on her heel while the others talked with each other excitedly about something they were genuinely looking forward to.

“Did you see the setlist for tonight, it’s finally the new one!” One girl squeaked.

“I still can’t believe we are going to meet the Ashford alpha tonight…”

I whipped my head so fast, I could have broken my neck.

“Ashford Alpha?” I blurted out and they all looked at me.

“Dont you know? He is invited as one of the guests tonight. I have only seen photos of him so I am very excited to see him in person”

“Yeah, he is not only handsome but so damn rich. And I’ve heard he is a monster in bed”

The girls giggled while my heart sank with every word they spoke.

What kind of wild meeting was going on here? What kind of business would have clients discussing someone’s sexual skills?

I recalled Lily saying that he needed to see some samples….were these girls…

No, fuck no!

A man appeared shortly thereafter holding a clipboard in hand, waving them forward hastily like they were all running behind schedule.

“Come on, we’re getting late, let’s move!”

One of the girls popped a bubble of gum, loud and unbothered. “Yeah, Bob, relax. The alpha is going home with one of us tonight!”

Wait, did she call him Bob?

That was the name two different people had taken tonight and somehow thought I belonged to Bob’s

group.

Maybe he was some type of a entertainment coordinator and this was my chance to take it.

I fell into step with the group of girls, angling myself into the middle of their cluster.

The girls were all shrieking and I joined them, smiling wide and confident as if I belonged there completely, and caught Bob’s eye across the lobby.

“Oh, Bob,” I said, breezily, “I was looking for you.”

He turned with his clipboard in hand, and blinked at me in confusion like he was trying hard to place a

face he didn’t recognize among faces he did.

The guard was still watching close enough to intervene if this fell apart, and my stomach dropped straight through the marble floor, growing increasingly certain that this was the exact moment everything collapsed.

“Which one are you again?” Bob scratched his head, squinting slightly.

“I’m Jenny, remember?” I blurted out with more confidence than I had any right to.

He didn’t push further. He just sighed deeply like he was tired of it all and muttered, “Just hurry along. we’re already behind.“.

I exhaled so hard in relief that I nearly stumbled.

The guard, apparently satisfied that I was now officially part of whatever this group was, stepped aside without another word. I gave him a confident smile and I swept through the door in the middle of the cluster of girls before he could reconsider.

I was barely looking where I was going because I was too focused on not losing my cover.

Then I actually looked around and stopped short..

The space beyond the door was nothing like the restaurant above it.

While the restaurant above was awfully bright and white, I felt like I had stepped into some dark cave.

We kept climbing down the stairs and I could barely see a thing at first as my eyes adjusted to the dim lights.

It was clearly built underground, and the ceiling was low and vaulted with soft red and purple lighting pulsing along the walls in a rhythm that matched a bass line thumping somewhere beneath my feet.

The air here felt dense, the smell of perfume cloying and everywhere I looked there were so many things I didn’t have names for.

There were poles rising from small raised platforms and velvet ropes cordoning off private booths.

A large circular stage was in the center of the room with plush couches placed in front.

On a small circular raised platform, a woman was moving in slow, deliberate spirals around a metal pole while a crowd below cheered and whistled.
