Chapter 233
Sinna
Blondie was way too close to him and getting bolder with every passing minute.
She had one hand on the back of his chair and the other trailing along his collar, swaying like she had all night and he had nowhere else to be.
The bass thumped up through the stage, and the amber lights pulsed slow and warm over the front rows. Somewhere behind me, heels clicked against the boards in a perfect rhythm while I stood like an idiot
The whole room smelled like spilled liquor, perfume and expensive cigars.
I should have been counting steps, and hiding behind the tall girl’s shoulder.
Instead I was watching Blondie’s hand like my eyes could shoot lasers.
It slid down from Connor’s collar and hovered over the glass on the little table beside him.
He had turned his head to answer a server who’d bent down to ask if he needed anything. Blondie leaned forward like the music had made her lose her balance, pretended to trip and placed both her hands on Connor’s shoulders.
Her hair fell on his face and my eyes out of my skull.
From where did she bring the courage to touch him like that, tease him like she had done it a thousand
times?
I could barely look him in the eye without getting all worked up with that heated gaze roaming all over
His hands rose up to catch her, sliding up from her thighs to her waist.
She made no attempt to move and seemed to mumble something to him shyly.
He replied something, probably ‘it’s okay‘ which it totally was not.
She straightened and I saw her reach inside her bra while she pretended to adjust her dress. She then positioned herself in front of him, blocking his view of the table in front of him.
Her fingers brushed the rim of his glass and then in the blink of an eye, I saw her quickly slide out that tiny vial, put two drops in his drink and pull her hand back, all while laughing embarrassedly.
No, no, no! Somebody must have seen it, somebody should stop it.
I looked around wildly but it turned out that nobody had seen her do that.
The servers were busy. Lily was still in her corner seat, watching over the rim of her wine, talking to someone I didn’t bother taking a good look at.
And the other guests nearby were watching Blondie’s hips, not her hands.

She finally pulled back laughing, flicking her hair over her shoulder fike nothing had happened.
asn’t there a rule that stopped them from drugging guests, the future alpha of the biggest pack no less?
Two drops of this and he’ll be ripping my clothes off. That was what she’d said in the dressing room. sounding so smug and sure.
She had promised she would get a night with Connor and she had already enacted the first half of her plan pretty flawlessly.
And Connor was about to drink it.
My stomach dropped so hard I forgot how to sway.
This wasn’t jealousy anymore. It wasn’t embarrassment either.
This was real danger, and I was the only person in the entire club who knew.
I edged toward the front of the stage, trying to look like I was part of the choreography. The girl beside me shot me a look. I ignored it.
“Connor,” I mouthed. He was at least twenty feet away and the bass would have swallowed my voice
anyway.
“Don’t drink it.”
He was smiling politely at the server, obviously not hearing me or even lookin at me at all.
I waved one hand like it was a dance move but the server blocked my view of him so I waved harder.
The girl beside me hissed, “What are you doing? Stay in line.”
I ignored her and tried to step forward mouthing “Don’t drink it” but the girl pulled me back.
“You are making all of us look bad and lose money. Stop it”
Meanwhile, Blondie stepped directly into my line of sight.
She did it so smoothly it looked accidental. She spun and pressed her back against his chest, arms rising over her head as she laughed at something he’d said. She was a wall of gold fabric and swaying hair
between us.
I couldn’t even see his face.
Move, I thought at her viciously.
She didn’t move but simply lifted her hand from his shoulder to reach for the glass on the table.
A small, strangled squeak came out of me and got swallowed by the music.
Could I jump off the stage and scream? Everyone would look, including him.
And then he’d see me in this dress, in this mask, on this stage, and….

Would that really be worse than him drinking it?
Maybe I didn’t know!!
Fuck my brain cells weren’t helping at all.
The music changed as the beat dropped into something faster, and the girls around me broke formation.
One by one they stepped off the stage, gliding down the little side stairs or just hopping down like the drop was nothing. A
redhead in green sequins headed for a table of men in suits. The tall dark–haired girl swayed back toward the old geyser in a burgundy jacket..
Two more went for a booth near the bar where someone was already waving a bill.
They were all slowly advancing towards the men seated in the plush couches, not wanting to waste time just dancing on the stage anymore.
