Chapter 235
Sienna
I froze and my hands hung at my sides like two dead fish.
牌
A white, unbearable glare hit my face, and beyond it I could see nothing but shadows and the glint of glasses.
‘This is fine‘, I lied to myself. ‘Connor doesn’t know it’s you. Stay masked and just breathe.
“Come on, sweetheart, show us something!” someone shouted.
“Yeah, don’t be shy!”
The voice came from the far corner, the darkest part of the room.
A group of men had claimed a long couch and a table crowded with so many bottles that there was no room left to fit more.
They were already drunk and wasted given that the performance and our act had barely started a little over an hour ago.
Five of them, or maybe six, were all donning expensive jackets, making jokes and all sprawled like they owned the place.
Every girl had drifted toward the front and center tables, pulled like magnets toward Connor and the fat wallets around him.
This corner had been left with its own drinks and bruised egos of men who hated to be ignored like this.
I could see it now why Bob had taken one look at me and decided that I could be just handed over to them like a brand–new toy.
One of them rose slowly. He was tall and bulky with a shaved head that caught the light and a wide, wolfish grin.
He pulled a bill from his pocket and waved it at Bob, lazily, like he was flagging down a waiter.
Bob’s eyes lit up like Christmas came early for him tonight.
“Well!” he said into the mic. “It looks like we have our first interested party for my best girl!”
A what?
“Excuse me?” I hissed, turning toward him, forgetting the audience entirely.
“Bob. What are you doing?”
“Quiet,” he muttered through his teeth, still smiling at the crowd. “You’re the last one left and that man is paying. Don’t ruin this or I will throw you to them either way but you wont get your share.”
“My share?” I exclaimed. “I’m not for sale!”

“Everyone’s for sale, sweetheart. Just look pretty.”
He grabbed my elbow and steered me toward the edge of the stage nearest the corner, fingers pinching hard enough to leave marks..
I dug my heels in but he barely noticed or cared. My gaze flew to Connor but the girls were now going around him in circles, determined to fight for a piece of him as he casually sipped on his drink.
I looked at his table that was cluttered with glasses. I wasn’t even sure anymore if he took that drink Blondie gave him or not.
How was I supposed to save him when I was in trouble as well? Not that he knew either of the two.
I frantically looked for Lily who was casually talking to another guy at the far end of the room, away from the ruckus going on here.
Why had she even called him here if she wanted to leave him stranded with a group of girls surrounding him like hungry vultures?
I recalled how she had earlier mentioned that he should see a sample before they signed a contract.
Lily and the other guy simply got up from their seat and began walking towards the exit, not giving Connor any attention.
He was on his own now, drugged while women hovered around him.
Was this her way of putting him down? Had Lily and Sandra plotted something wicked again to make us look bad in front of the elders while Aaron and Sandra’s image stayed spotless?
The more I thought, the crazier it felt but then Sandra was the kind of girl who could go to any lengths to get what she wanted.
Nobody in this room listened to a word I said. Not Bob, not the men, not even the bass, which drowned out everything I tried to shout.
“Ladies and gentlemen!” Bob boomed. “Since we have a very innocent and shy girl, an untouched flower, its only fitting that she gets the attention and wealth she deserves”
Bob took a knowing pause, feeling pleased about his newest idea and shouted loudly.
“So we are going to have a bidding war for the last girl standing here right beside me!”
“What? Are you insane?” I glared at Bob but then he lowered his voice, holding the microphone away from
his mouth.
“Look to your right. If you dont stand here quietly, they will make you”
I looked to my right to see two tall and gruff men standing on the stage just behind the dark curtain from where we had stepped in.
I recognized one of them as the security guy who was not letting me in without an invitation.
Now, I truly wished I would have listened to him.

“You are playing with fire. Connor Ashford is right there” I pointed towards his couch and shouted out his name but it got drowned under the music.
“Yeah, and he wouldn’t be salivating for the other girls if you meant anything to him”
