Just then Camille looked up at the men. “So we were supposed to choose one of you, right? After this heated debate, we could all use some relaxation, right girlies?”

She walked around them all, looking them up and down and then stopped in front of the dark skinned man with a gorgeous smile.

He took a step forward and bowed to Camille who took his hand and began dragging him away.

Her behavior emboldened the other girls and then more selections were made like this was a dating show, not a wellness retreat.

Portia picked a guy just as quickly and Becca deliberated but chose one as well.

Lily said to Camille, “The one on the left has better hands, look at his forearms,” and Camille reconsidered briefly before staying with her choice.

Jane turned to me with her eyebrows somewhere near her hairline and said in a very low voice, “I’m exhausted from smiling at and fighting mean girls all morning and this has completely changed my outlook on the day. Maybe you should…”

I’m just saying. I deserve this emotionally.” She lowered her voice further. “Are you going to just sit here and stare at the trees?”

“Obviously,” I said, glancing around at the surroundings and imagining all this peace and calm belonging to just myself.

When the mean girls had left, Marcus ran to us. “I am truly sorry for what happened earlier. I am a mere employee here and I couldn’t humiliate the guest, certainly not the soon to be bride of the son of Alpha Asher. I hope you understand.”

Calling it a disagreement was putting it mildly but not like I hadn’t seen Sandra’s true face already. Lily was the one I hadn’t expected to be a shrewd and cunning one.

When everybody had left I simply let my head fall back to relax. But given all these thoughts and irritation in my head, I couldn’t sit still.

I wasn’t even sure when I decided it but I dialed Connor.

He didn’t pick up at once so I believed he must be in a meeting so let it slide. Curiosity got the better of me so I looked through Sandra’s post and boy did it explode!

There were thousands of comments and likes in just an hour and people were all praising the lot. There was truly no Jane or Sienna in sight.

Part of me just wanted to pack my stuff and go back home but I couldn’t leave Jane with the vultures so I sat alone, feeling miserable with each passing second.

Just then someone cleared his throat behind me.

I looked back to see it was one of the men, the only one I hadn’t chosen.

He gave me a polite smile and bowed to me.

I thought of answering him a minute later and turned my focus to the man because he was staring at me expectantly.
