Chapter 175 Emily Took Everything and Ran Away

Eric scoffed, “Why bother looking for her? She’s nothing but an ungrateful brat! Can you believe she actually said she’ll never forgive us?” His temper had been simmering for a long time.

After Whitney played him, Eric became the butt of every joke in high society. He resented Whitney deeply. Now, finally given. the chance, he let loose, cursing Whitney and calling her an ungrateful daughter.

Chase wanted to stop him, but he only opened his mouth and couldn’t find the words to argue back. Honestly, what Whitney said just now was really out of line.

“Enough!” Brandon barked, cutting Eric off mid-rant. He shot Eric a cold glare. “What’s the point of yelling at her? Does it help?

“If Emily hadn’t known Mom had a bad heart and still said those hurtful things to push her over the edge, would Mom have gotten sick?”

Eric shrank back at Brandon’s outburst, but when he heard Brandon mention Emily, he couldn’t hold back and retorted, “It’s not Emily’s fault. She was only being honest.”

“Eric!” Brandon’s glare turned icier.

He remembered how Whitney had spat out the words that she would never forgive them, her voice thick with hatred. That kind of hatred crawled under his skin like a swarm of tiny insects, eating away at his heart and leaving him deeply unsettled. Brandon squeezed his eyes shut. “If we’d treated her a little better back then, things wouldn’t have turned out like this.” Eric didn’t think he’d done anything wrong. “Who needs a sister like her anyway? I’d rather not have someone so cold and heartless in my life!”

Chase hesitated for a while, then finally muttered, “Honestly, Whitney was in the wrong from the very beginning. When she came back, if she had any issues with Emily, she could’ve said it straight to her face.

“No need to go behind her back. If Whitney hadn’t pulled all those stunts, would we ever have pushed her away?*

Brandon let out a cold laugh. “Are you really sure about everything you saw? Is Emily still the sweet little sister you always believed she was?”

Chase fell silent. He couldn’t answer that question. He started to wonder if everything he believed before was a lie. But Eric stood his ground. “All of you, every single one, got played by that little bitch Whitney. Do you care how much this. hurts Emily? I’m not buying Whitney’s crap, not ever!”

With that, he turned and walked out of the hospital. He couldn’t wait a second longer for Paula to be out of danger. He was itching to find Emily and prove he was loyal to her, no matter what.

It wasn’t until nightfall that the doors to the emergency room finally swung open. The Anderson brothers rushed forward, anxious to hear any news.

Paula was out of danger, but if she got hit with another shock, she might not make it. The Anderson brothers thanked the doctors over and over, promising they’d take good care of Paula.

Paula still needed to be monitored for the night. Chase was, about to ask Brandon to head home while he stayed with Paula when his phone suddenly rang. It was a call from the Anderson residence.

It was the butler, sounding frantic. “Brandon, something terrible happened. Eric is passed out right outside the storage room, and Emily is gone.”

Brandon and Chase exchanged a look, their faces darkening. ‘Eric never fails to cause trouble. And Emily… She’s got guts, huh? After I locked her up, she still managed to escape?’ Brandon wondered. ‘Did Emily have something to do with Eric passing out, too?’

Brandon left Chase at the hospital and rushed back to the Anderson residence. When he got there, he was in for a real shock. Emily’s disappearance and Eric’s being knocked out on the floor were nothing compared to what came next. Edgar and Paula’s rooms, plus all the brothers’ rooms, had been stripped bare. Every single valuable was gone, not a dollar left behind.

Brandon’s heart sank as he realized what was happening. He rushed up to the third floor. He found the study in complete disarray. Every single important document and contract was gone

Brandon was absolutely floored. He couldn’t be Successfully unlocked! to explode. He grabbed his head, barely able to stay un ins feet.

randon suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood with a loud splutter. His body couldn’t take it anymore, and he eollapsed into a chair. The Anderson family was in total panic. Everything was a mess.

When Brandon slowly regained consciousness, Eric was sitting by his bedside, looking deeply ashamed. “Brandon, I’m sorry…” Eric muttered softly He wanted to apologize.

But Brandon grabbed his arm, his voice urgent. “Where’s Emily? Where is she?”

“I… I don’t know,” Eric replied, shaking his head helplessly. He never doubted Emily for a second. When he found out Brandon had locked her in the storage room, he rushed back to the villa, desperate to rescue her.

Emily was crying behind the door, so pitiful and wronged, it made his heart ache. As soon as he opened the door, she threw herself into his arms, clinging to him.

Her warmth and softness enveloped him, and she pressed an excited, trembling kiss to his lips. His heart raced. He even wanted to grab Emily and run away to the ends of the earth, never let her suffer another moment.

Suddenly, his vision went dark, and he passed out. When he came to, the butler told him Emily had cleaned out the place. She took everything that wasn’t nailed down and grabbed all the important papers and contracts from the study.

Until now, Eric still couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that Emily could do something like this. He knew deep down that when Emily threw herself into his arms and kissed him, she only did it to drug him and make him pass out.
