Henry did not stand on ceremony. He handed the ingredients straight to Whitney.” Looks like lunch is on you today.”
Whitney laid everything out in front of the stove, raising an eyebrow with a playful smile. “I am not doing all the work by myself.”
“I will clean the ingredients,” Elian said.
“Let me do the chopping,” Nora chimed in.
The two sidekicks jumped in right away, eagerly fighting over who got to help with the chores.
Even Ryan joined in, squatting by the spice station and busying himself with seasonings.
Henry was a step behind, scanning the kitchen counter, trying to find anything else he could help with.
“Mr. Howard, there is actually a job only you can handle,” Whitney said, her smile lighting up the whole kitchen, her bright face practically glowing.
“I heard your stew skills are top–notch. You picked them up because your daughter loves soup, right?” She grinned, pointing at the pile of vacuum–sealed stew ingredients nearby. “There is plenty of stew stuff over there.
“I wonder if I will have the honor of tasting the stew you learned to make for your daughter today?”
Henry paused for a second, then burst out laughing. “Whitney, you little rascal. You have had your eye on my stew skills all along, right?”
From his tone, it was clear Henry now saw her as one of his own, a younger person he genuinely cared about.

Whitney did not hesitate. She smiled and nodded. “Looks like we will be counting on you, Henry.”
She dropped the formal “mister“, closing the distance between them.
Elian and Nora exchanged a look and tsked when they overheard the conversation. That is Whitney for you, they thought. ‘Even Henry, who was always so serious and old school, was completely charmed by her.‘
But then again, even Ryan, the ice prince of campus, was following Whitney around like a puppy. Honestly, no one was surprised that Henry was charmed too.
The five of them were lively and full of joy, having a great time together.
The livestream chat was filled with wholesome vibes as everyone soaked up the cozy

atmosphere. In one morning, Whitney had won over countless fans.
Who would not fall for a capable, humble, one–of–a–kind beauty with that boss lady vibe? She did not break only guys‘ hearts. She was a total crush for girls too. Everyone loved cool girls.
[Wild Beauty is seriously amazing. Why did so many people bash her on the first day of filming? I honestly thought she was some drama queen and did not even bother to pay attention. But now she is actually awesome.]
[Seriously, where did all those rumors even come from? People said she only got into showbiz to seduce male celebs and use them as a springboard to marry rich. They called her fake, dramatic, pretentious, all those things.]
[I have learned something. If you want to know what someone is really like, do not listen to others. You have to see for yourself.]
[OMG, Wild Beauty totally moved me. She had plenty of ingredients for herself, but instead of doing her own thing, she went out of her way to help others with their tasks.
]
[Wild Beauty is seriously amazing. It feels like there is nothing she cannot do. No matter what challenge the production team throws at her, she makes it look easy every time.]
[If it were Emily, the queen of lounging around, she would be shouting her accomplishments from the rooftops, showing off every chance she got.]
[Anyone who knows Mr. Howard knows that after his divorce, he hardly ever mingles with people in the industry anymore. Even on shows, he keeps things strictly professional. This is the first time he has really opened up to someone since then.] [Exactly. And Ryan, the ice prince, set his sights on Wild Beauty from day one. That is proof of how impressive Wild Beauty really is.]
[I am sorry for being so immature and for bashing Wild Beauty before.]
Apology comments were flying across the screen, filling the whole chat.
Meanwhile, Emily had finished her check–up. The doctor said she was fine. She needed to get up and move around a little. If nothing was wrong, she could go back on the livestream.
She was hiding in a corner, clutching the phone she had secretly stashed away and watching Whitney’s livestream.
The comments were full of praise for Whitney. Every single cut deep.
She clenched the phone so tightly that her fingertips turned white.

Her usually sweet, pale face twisted with anger. Her eyes were full of hate and

bitterness.
That bitch Whitney. She is some nobody from the middle of nowhere. She was supposed to be my competition, the stepping stone for me to climb up,’ Emily fumed.‘ How does she have this much pull with the fans?
‘She knows I came on this show to win fans, to get more people to like me. So this is how Whitney gets back at me?
‘Does she really have to come after me like this? Steal the spotlight that should be mine, then take my place, my Anderson family, everything that belongs to me?‘ The more she thought about it, the more her eyes filled with overwhelming hate. At the same time, panic started to creep in.
‘If this keeps up, Emily thought, anxiety churning in her gut. ‘I will end up disappointing that person.‘
Imagining what would happen if that person lost faith in her sent chills down Emily’s spine.
‘No. Absolutely not.‘ She gritted her teeth. Panic flooded her mind. ‘I cannot sit here and do nothing. I have to turn this around.
‘I need to steal back the spotlight. Make everyone look at me again. I have to become the absolute favorite in all of Roynfort’s elite circles. The one everyone adores.‘
Out of nowhere, a voice sounded behind her, “Emily, what are you doing here?” Emily jumped. She quickly turned off the screen and shoved her phone behind her back. Then she spun around and saw Chase standing there, his face pale. Her heart tightened with anxiety. “Chase, when did you get here?”
A moment ago, her face had been twisted with anger and jealousy. She had practically been dripping with hatred for Whitney.
If Chase had seen her like that, her whole image as the innocent, sweet little flower would be shattered in an instant.
“I just came to find you,” Chase said. He gave Emily a suspicious once–over, catching how off she looked. “Why are you so jumpy?”
“No. Not at all,” Emily stammered. She figured that from Chase’s reaction, he probably had not seen her face twisted up in anger a moment ago.
Emily let out a quiet sigh of relief, but deep down, she reminded herself to keep up her act. She’d make sure everyone saw her as the sweet, innocent Emily they all expected.
场
She glanced at Chase’s furrowed brow and quickly pulled out the phone she had been hiding behind her back, like a good little girl. She lowered her head and mumbled, Sorry, Chase. I hid my phone and was sneaking a peek at Whitney’s stream.”
