Chapter 61 Really Disgusting
Chapter 61 Really Disgusting
“Whitney! What the hell are you doing?” Chase shouted.
After the second slap, he finally snapped out of his shock and immediately rushed over, pulling Emily into his arms.
He raised his hand, intending to return the favor with two slaps to Whitney.
But Ryan, with his towering frame, subtly shifted his body, shielding Whitney behind him.
Chase’s raised hand clenched into a fist and then dropped, his face darkening with anger and frustration as he glared at Whitney. “You’re utterly unreasonable.”
Chase thought to himself, ‘I must’ve lost my damn mind. Why did I even bother worrying about Whitney and coming here to ask for trouble?
‘Whitney’s like a walking porcupine right now, all sharp edges and thorns. Anyone who gets too close gets stabbed. No wonder nobody in the Anderson family likes her with that attitude.
[WTF? Is Whitney out of her mind? She actually slapped Emily!]
[How dare Whitney slap Emily? Is she nuts or something?]
[Chase and Emily were obviously trying to care for her, but she just walked up with two slaps, no warning at all. What the hell is that about?]
[@Production Team How can you turn a blind eye while a guest is assaulting others? If Whitney doesn’t get kicked off the show, I’m gonna spam your official account with nasty comments every single day.]
[Since the show kicked off, Whitney’s been constantly picking on Emily. Now she slaps her for all to see. Isn’t this setting a bad example for kids?]
[Trash. Whitney’s nothing but trash. Get out of the show, Whitney! I never want to see this bitch again.]
As soon as Chase’s fans and Emily’s fans saw what happened, they immediately started howling and cursing at Whitney in the comments.
The paid trolls had been lurking all day, thinking today’s mission would be a bust after Whitney’s heroic rescue took over the headlines.
But then Whitney threw those slaps. The golden chance showed up right in front of them. They jumped at the opportunity, kicking off the smear campaign and tearing her to shreds nonstop.
Brandon promptly gave the order. “Get this video trending and stir up the drama. Make sure everyone sees Whitney as a troublemaker and a bully who’s been at it since she was a kid.”
The Anderson family started pulling strings behind the scenes.
On the livestream, Whitney looked totally unfazed, not even a little bothered or guilty after slapping Emily.
Emily buried her face in Chase’s arms, letting out whimpering sobs.
While sobbing, she mumbled in a tearful, muffled voice, “Chase, please don’t blame Whitney. She must have her reasons for slapping me.”
Emily’s skin was always so delicate. After Whitney’s two brutal slaps, her cheeks had swollen up and turned red, looking rather alarming.
Chase felt his heart break for her. And his resentment toward Whitney only grew more intense.
“You’re still defending her at a time like this? She won’t be grateful to you,” he said.
The moment his words left his mouth, Whitney’s cold and detached voice cut in. “Of course I won’t be grateful.”
The more arrogant Whitney acted, the more delighted Emily felt inside, even though those two slaps really stung.
But then she remembered it was all being broadcast live. That meant the more aggressively and arrogantly Whitney acted toward her, the more the viewers would dislike Whitney. And the more flak Whitney would catch.
That would also give Brandon a golden chance to turn things around for Emily.
Whitney’s slapping was exactly what she needed. At least, she wouldn’t have to take all the blame for ditching the lifeguards to save herself. Instead, she’d probably get more sympathy from the viewers.
Emily held back the upward curl of her lips and pressed her face deeper into Chase’s chest.
But before the wave of joy could fully take over, she heard Whitney’s mocking and flippant voice. “I do have reasons.
“The first slap was for everyone in the Real Survival production team. A lesson to set you straight.” She spoke each word

with crystal–clear precision.
Her voice, though calm as a millpond, had the power to strike like a thunderous drum, pounding straight into everyone’s
hearts.
Emily stiffened, and her smile froze in an instant.
“For your own selfish reasons, you ignored the production team’s warnings and had everyone scrambling to clean up your mess. You nearly got the whole show shut down.
“You’re just a spoiled rich girl who’s never had to deal with real problems. Do you understand how much effort everyone has put into this show? You think I’m wrong to slap you?”
Whitney scornfully flicked her eyebrows, her eyes glinting with icy looked down at Emily with contempt.

off and left the lifeguards who risked their lives to
“Yeah, it’s true that everyone gets scared and selfish when facing unknown danger and death.
“But what disgusts me the most is how you act all innocent and self–righteous, like it’s totally fine to throw others‘ lives away for your own gain. It’s really disgusting.”
Whitney’s words were icy and forceful, each one hitting everyone hard.
She could understand that anyone would do whatever it took to survive when death was looming large. It was human nature to be selfish.
But Emily hadn’t even said thank you or sorry to those two lifeguards. Not once. Instead, she was using what happened to them to make herself look good. She never cared about those two lifeguards‘ lives at all.
Since Emily and Chase kept stirring up trouble and acting all fake and innocent in front of her, Whitney figured it was time to rip off Emily’s mask and show everyone the real her.
Emily’s face went deathly pale, like all the blood had drained out.
Even Chase, who was holding her, stiffened for a second and then pushed her away from him without thinking.
Emily’s eyes flashed with anger at that move. She looked at Chase with a wounded expression and suddenly started sobbing quietly.
Chase’s face was a canvas of conflicting emotions, first flushing with anger, and then paling with guilt as he caught sight of Emily’s tears.
He thought, ‘It’s all Whitney’s fault. Those hurtful words she spat out dragged me into hurting Emily too.
‘Whitney must’ve done it deliberately. She just wants to mess things up between me and Emily so she can swoop in and take Emily’s place.
‘What a joke! With a personality like hers, there’s no way I’d ever like her, even in a world without Emily.
“Whitney, even if we screwed up, it’s not your place to lecture Emily.” Chase, racked with guilt, hurried back to Emily’s side. Driven by that guilt, he positioned himself right in front of Emily, acting as a human shield.
He shot Whitney a glare full of warning. “You had no right to slap Emily. You’d better apologize to her right now.” The comments on the livestream were flaring up again.
[Exactly. What gives Whitney the right to slap Emily like that? Even if Emily did something wrong, it’s not her turn to throw her weight around. Who the hell does she think she is?]
[The production team didn’t say a word, the lifeguards didn’t complain, but she’s getting all worked up.]
[Even as a neutral viewer, I gotta say Whitney was out of line for slapping Emily. No matter what Emily did, Whitney had no right to slap her.]
[I’ve already saved the clip of Whitney slapping Emily. Can I call the cops on this? Can I press assault charges?] Whitney’s fans and a few viewers who were on her side could only mumble a few weak defenses.
Even though they had to admit those two slaps were incredibly satisfying to watch, there was no denying that Whitney really shouldn’t have gone and slapped Emily right there on camera.
