Their Punching Bag Became The Storm novel Chapter 75

Chapter 75 Feed Me

And one more thing,Ryan said.

His eyes narrowed, a dangerous glint flickering in them. Don’t go near Whitney. Stay away from her.

His voice was cold and emotionless, but it sent chills down your spine.

Emily could hear the undeniable warning and threat in his words.

She clenched her fists in anger and snapped, She’s some nobody from some backwater, no parents, no upbringing, no family name. She’s not good enough for you.”

She couldn’t hold it in anymore, her eyes red with frustration. She’s only cozying up to you because she’s after your family name, your status, and your money. What makes me any less than her? I’m the one who truly loves you.

Ryan’s face darkened, his gaze turning even sharper.

His voice was cold as ice. Whether someone is good enough for me, that’s up to me. Don’t even try to compare yourself to Whitney. She’d find it revolting.

And don’t even talk about loving me. The greed in your eyes taints the very meaning of love.

His brows lifted slowly, a hint of a smile at the corner of his eyes, but his words sent chills down your spine.

He said, Instead of putting on an act for me, you’d better start thinking about how you’re going to explain to Mr. Anderson the huge losses you caused the Anderson family, once the show wraps up.

Emily’s face went very pale, and she blurted out in a panic, No, you can’t do this.

Is Ryan really going to target the Anderson family because of Whitney?Emily thought. If Dad finds out the Pierce family is bringing the Anderson family to ruin because of me, he’ll punish me severely. How could Ryan be so ruthless?

This time, the tears streaming down Emily’s face weren’t for show.

Ryan lifted his gaze, his eyes icy and full of menace. Do you even know why I kept you two on the show? It’s only because you’re Whitney’s playthings.

So you better remember what you are. Got it?

Emily ran out in a panic.

hatred in an instant.

Emily glared at Whitney, as if she could shred her with her stare.

Whitney could hear her teeth clacking angrily.

But Emily was so rattled by Ryan that she couldn’t get a single word out. Then she turned and ran off, sobbing.

Whitney arched an eyebrow, watching Emily scurry off, then clicked her tongue in disdain.

She stepped into Ryan’s room and teased, Wow, Ryan, not exactly the gentleman, huh? You made that fragile girl cry her eyes out.

Being gentle depends on who I’m dealing with,” Ryan said, his frosty expression instantly softening as soon as he saw Whitney.

Even the icy glint in his eyes melted away. Did you enjoy listening in?

Whitney walked over to his bed, and the air still lingered with Emily’s overpowering perfume. Whitney fanned the air in front of her nose, trying to get rid of the smell.

So you already knew I was listening outside?Whitney said, pushing the cup and the medicine into Ryan’s hand. Here, your medicine.

Beside the cup lay a few dark, solid pills, dotted with a few dried herb fragments on their surface.

The stench hit him right in the face. It was a strange, almost gaginducing smell.

Ryan’s hand stiffened, and he instinctively leaned away, his perfectly sculpted brows furrowing in disgust.

Whitney shot him a look, pulled up a chair, and sat down beside him. Take your medicine. Once you sweat it out, you’ll be bouncing back by this afternoon.

Ryan stared at the pills, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallowed hard, but he couldn’t bring himself to take one.

He glanced at Whitney. Honestly, I feel a lot better after the IV.

Whitney raised an eyebrow. Look at your face. It’s so red. Sure, you’re awake now, but that fever’s not going anywhere. YouIl probably be stuck on IVs for days.

Ryan was speechless. He glanced down at the pills again. “Do I really have to take it?

If you want to keep lying in bed, forget it,Whitney said, unconcerned.

With only wild herbs she could find on the island, she had to make medicine straight from what she picked.

There was no way to make it taste good. It was the pure, straightup taste of the herbs. It was pretty nasty.

But come on, you’re sick. Do you really get to be picky?she thought.

Ryan closed his eyes. Alright, I’ll take it.

Whitney lifted her chin, motioning for him to chug it all in one go.

But Ryan held out the cup to her instead. But you have to feed me.

Whitney stared at him, completely thrown off.

She shot Ryan a look, eyeing him up and down. Seriously, you’ve got a fever. It’s not like your arms are broken. You’ve got perfectly good hands, why do you need me to feed you?Whitney wondered.

Ryan’s head drooped, his flushed face taking on a pitiful, helpless look.

He slumped back against the soft pillow, looking like he was barely hanging on. I don’t have the strength anymore,he said. Even his tone was so weak that it sounded like he was fading away.

Whatever, I guess nobody loves me, nobody cares, and nobody wants to feed me. Might as well let this fever finish me off he muttered.

Whitney rolled her eyes and thought, Is he seriously faking it to get some sympathy?

He was all fired up, giving Emily a hard time a second ago.

And when he refused to drink the medicine, he sure didn’t look weak then.

How does he go from full of energy to acting like he’s on his deathbed in the blink of an eye?Whitney wondered. And now he’s playing the sympathy act?

Whitney’s face involuntarily twitched.

Whitney sighed inwardly, He’s nothing like that aloof, mysterious heartthrob everyone talks about. It’s like he’s a totally different person. He’s a spoiled guy, so clingy and whiny.

She took a deep breath, snatched the pills from him, her teeth audibly clicking in annoyance. Alright,

feed

you.

Honestly, the best way to get through this was to chug it all at once and get it over with.

Taking it one by one would only make it even more torturous.

Doesn’t he know it’s better to get it over with than drag it out?Whitney thought.

Fine, Whitney thought. He wants to be fed, huh?

She grabbed the pills at once, picked them up, and forced them straight into Ryan’s mouth without the slightest mercy.

Ryan actually cooperated this time, opening his mouth like a good boy.

As he swallowed the pills, that weird, bitter taste hit even harder.

But he downed the whole spoonful without a single grimace. He kept a straight face the entire time.

Whitney had expected him to make a face or at least grimace from the bitterness, but when he stayed completely unfazed, she narrowed her eyes, genuinely puzzled.

So she picked up an even larger pill and held it out to him.

Ryan opened his mouth and swallowed it down, still not showing the slightest reaction.

That sculpted, almost otherworldly face of his didn’t even flinch.

Whitney froze and thought, Wait, this isn’t right.

Whitney eyed him with growing suspicion, not convinced at all. Determined to see for herself, she picked up one of the pills and pressed it lightly to her own lips.

The bitterness was so overwhelming that it exploded in her mouth, almost making her gag.

Seriously? Whitney thought and spat it out at once. This taste is brutal. No way most people could handle it.

So, the medicine she made was definitely legit.
