Chapter 91 MVP Player Voted In
When Whitney and Ryan got back to the set, Emily glanced over at Whitney. Emily’s eyes were burning with barely suppressed hatred, mixed with a flicker of panic and uneasiness.
Whitney raised an eyebrow. She thought, ‘It is already the end of the show. We’ll be heading back to the island soon. Shouldn’t Emily be pumped right now?
‘Once we’re off the island, she can totally use the rest of the Anderson family to crush me, mess with me, and get whatever she wants. So why is she still so scared? What is she so afraid of?
‘Is it because she didn’t live up to what she hoped for on the show? Or maybe, unlike her previous life, she didn’t instantly rack up a horde of fans and shoot up to B–list stardom as soon as the show ended.
This time, not only did she miss out on all that popularity, but she also got slammed online and picked up a ton of haters. No matter how hard she tried to whitewash her image, make excuses, or cover things up, her reputation still took a massive blow. Maybe her reputation in Roynfort’s high society would take a hit. It might affect the Anderson family.
But Whitney didn’t think Emily was scared of getting chewed out by the Anderson family once they got off the island. For Emily, even if she committed murder or arson, the Anderson family would still clean up her mess for her.
Right now, they’d probably feel sorry for her, thinking about all the hardship she’d been through on the island. They wouldn‘ t blame her at all. Even if they did, with Emily’s tricks, she could easily play the whole Anderson family like a fiddle.
‘So, the real reason Emily is so panicked and uneasy… must be the secret she’s hiding, Whitney thought, narrowing her eyes, a faint, mischievous smile curling at her lips, devil–may–care and unrestrained.
Ryan’s gaze swept briefly over her face. Then, following her gaze, he looked over at Emily. As he lowered his eyes, a cold, enigmatic light flickered in their depths.
After their final meal together, everyone was stuffed and happy. Darian, with tears in his eyes, announced that this episode was over. Finally, everyone took turns answering questions and said goodbye to everyone watching the stream.
After that, they did an MVP vote for this round of Real Survival. Each person cast their vote on camera and had to explain why they chose.
Whitney’s team all voted for her, four votes, hands down. After all, they were riding her coattails, and they totally owned it. But when the guest votes were counted, the MVP was Emily. All five votes went straight to Emily. That meant Emily voted for herself. Whitney, meanwhile, cast her vote for Ryan. With a 5-4 split, Emily snagged the MVP title.
Emily stood up, looking all shy as she took the medal symbolizing this round’s MVP from the staff. Beaming with a sugary smile, she thanked everyone for their support, acting all humble and saying she didn’t really deserve it and stuff.
Her phony, over–the–top performance made everyone in the stream cringe. Emily thought that winning MVP meant that, at least for this episode, her skills were superior to Whitney’s, and she could outshine her. Plus, the viewers would start seeing her in a whole new light.
But what Emily didn’t see coming was that as soon as her side started voting, the stream chat blew up with mocking, snarky comments.
Every time a guest gave their reason for voting for her, the chat would erupt with a flood of snarky replies and savage roasts. Some viewers literally called her a “corporate shill“.
After Emily finished her phony, overly shy speech, she clutched the medal and minced her way over to Whitney.
“Whitney, though everyone voted for me, in my heart, the MVP should really be you,” she said, handing the medal over, her smile all soft and gracious, acting like she was being super magnanimous. But it looked like she was tossing Whitney a bone.
Wild Beauty’s Fans: [They voted for you. Seriously, you don’t feel guilty saying that? Don’t you know how you ended up with five votes? So shameless!]
Whitney couldn’t care less about the voting results. She was already daydreaming about what she’d do once she was off the island. She slumped against Ryan’s arm, drifting in and out of sleep.
When she heard Emily’s voice, Whitney glanced up and met her gaze. There was a veiled challenge lurking in Emily’s eyes.
Emily kept smiling. But whenever she was out of the camera’s view, the challenge and malice in her eyes were plain as day. Clearly, she was trying to rile Whitney up.
She was hoping Whitney would lose her cool and say something nasty to her right at the very end of the show. Because if Whitney humiliated her at the very last moment, there’d be no way to turn things around.

Everyone would only remember the scene of Whitney’s biting sarcasm and Emily’s act of the wronged, self–sacrificing
victim.
‘She’s seriously getting more clueless with every move,‘ Whitney thought. She snorted lightly.
But before Whitney could say anything, Darian’s voice boomed over the loudspeaker, “Miss Anderson, since you got the most votes, the medal is yours. Please respect the rules of the game.”
Emily went, “Oh!” and sheepishly withdrew her hand. She looked at the medal, then at Whitney, putting on her most apologetic face.
“Sorry, Whitney, I didn’t know about that rule. Since Darian said so, I guess I’ll keep the medal for myself.” Emily was still putting on her act.
But Darian kept going, “While you guys were casting your votes, the crew launched a live poll in the stream for ten minutes, which means we also have a viewer–voted MVP.”
Emily’s smile froze on her face. Her eyes trembled as she snapped her gaze to Darian. Emily’s heart skipped a beat. ‘Viewer votes?‘
If it were the very first day of the show, Emily would’ve been 100% confident she’d be the MVP everyone voted for. But she knew exactly how things stood.
After this episode, Whitney had definitely racked up a ton of new fans. If that weren’t the case, Brandon and Joel wouldn’t have pulled out all the stops to try to smear Whitney.
Now, all Emily could do was desperately hope
canceled online.
Joel’s plan would actually work, and Whitney would get completely
‘Maybe, I still have a shot at being the viewer–voted MVP. If Ryan gets picked as MVP that wouldn’t be so embarrassing for me.‘ Emily was on edge, her nerves stretched tight.
Darian glanced at his phone and continued, “The viewer votes are in, and the real–time tally video has already been uploaded to the official account. And now, I’m proud to announce the viewer–voted MVP for this episode is… Whitney!” Emily’s heart sank like a stone. The medal in her hand suddenly felt like a hot potato. And that whole act she’d put on in front of Whitney made her look like a clown. She basically handed Whitney the perfect chance to roast her.
‘What’s up with Whitney?‘ Emily wondered, totally baffled. ‘Wasn’t everyone supposed to be tearing her apart online? Are Joel and Eric really this useless? Didn’t they say they’d destroy Whitney for me? How did Whitney still manage to snag the viewer–voted MVP?’
If it had been the guest–voted MVP, at least she could’ve saved a bit of face. But now, with the viewer–voted MVP in the mix, her so–called guest–voted MVP made her look more ridiculous.
