Chapter 154 Rooftop Trap
Finishing
George actually stopped and thought back on his short time in jail. His thoughts drifted off track right
away.
He muttered, “Yeah, I guess so. I never had to use a sewing machine, though. On the first day, they made me get up early, eat fast, and go to work. And the food? It was terrible”
Maya blinked. “Wait. You’ve really been to jail?!”
George didn’t feel embarrassed at all. “Of course.”
Edric had been the one who put him there himself.
Skind
Maya couldn’t help it; her voice carried a bit of awe. “Wow, that’s… kind of amazing.
He really was something else.
Strangely enough, that odd little conversation made George lose interest in killing her.
He glanced at the time on his phone. It was about right. The flowers had been delivered. Time to get to business, like kidnapping his younger brother.
“Bye, bye,” George said, waving lazily. “Hope to see you again, Maya.”
Just don’t die here.
Feeling the danger fade, Maya finally relaxed a little. She gave a small wave back and thanked him politely. “Thank you, teacher.”
The second she turned around, her smile disappeared.
Deep down, she prayed she would never see that murderer ever again.
Maya didn’t dare go back the way she came. Even an idiot could tell something was wrong now. Jenny was missing. She didn’t know where those people had taken her.
And Alfred…
The campus was quiet. Too quiet. The empty space made it feel worse. Suddenly, a man’s voice came over the loudspeaker.
Flat. Cold. No emotion at all.
“Students, please assemble on the rooftop.”
It repeated three times.
Maya froze mid-step.

Chapter 153 Running Wasn’t an Option
Maya stared at him.
George stared back. For suce, he was genuinely confused.
This is strange. Really strange.
Finished
George liked making friends. He was easygoing by nature, but none of his friendships ever lasted long.
His friends were the oddballs.
They complained all the time-about coworkers, about their bosses. Some even said they wished those people were gone for good.
So George helped them. He solved their problems.
In the end, they all turned on him. Some even said they wanted to kill him.
He had finally made a group of friends. By now, he had killed almost all of them.
At first, George had thought that if Maya tried to run, he would kill her too.
One more person wouldn’t make a difference.
He didn’t believe in guilt. To him, everything in the world was just passing scenery. If one disappeared. there would always be another.
This girl was interesting, sure. But the world was big.
There would always be someone else like her.
George never cared about consequences.
But she was asking if he needed help to deal with the body?
In all his years, this was the first time.
“But if the police come, you’ll go to prison. They might even execute you,” Maya said again inaking sure. T heard you have to wake up early and work all day in prison. Are you really sure you dont want help?”

Chapter 154 Rooftop Trap
She was stunned.
They aren’t even trying to keep a low profile now?
The rooftop? Assemble? Is this some kind of joke?
If they asked the student to assemble in the football field, she might believe it.
But the rooftop?
A bunch of students stuck up there would have nowhere to run.
Were they planning to trap everyone at once?
Because of the announcement, students had already started coming out. Voices echoed through the h as people talked.
“Why are we going to the rooftop?”
“Maybe they’ve got something to announce.”
“Where’s our teacher? Why are they announcing this over a broadcast?”
“No idea. Let’s check it out.”
But not everyone followed the order.
Some students stayed in their classrooms. Others wandered around in small groups.
Anyone who went to the rooftop was walking straight into a trap.
Maya went back to the classroom and looked around. Alfred wasn’t there. She didn’t waste any time, turned around, and ran straight for the lockers.
She yanked hers open, felt around inside, and finally found what she had hidden there-a stun batori.
She had planned to use it on that creepy homeless guy before. But thinking about the size ad age difference, she’d given up. It would’ve been asking for trouble.
She never thought she’d get another chance to use it.
In the end, all her thoughts turned into one simple act of gratitude.
Thanks to Alfred for his sponsorship. Thanks to that homeless guy for keeping her alert.
Thanks to… well, everyone.
With that strange sense of thankfulness, Maya gripped the baton and ran as fast as she could
As she sprinted down the hallway, she quickly spotted a familiar figure. Finally, someone she knew. “Phoebe!” she called out without hesitation.
