Thorns Grow After Betrayal (Celeste and Chester) novel Chapter 321

“The florist said a gentleman placed an order for three months!” the delivery guy said in a panic. “Are you being discharged this early?! Could you give me your new address so we can continue the deliveries?”

A gentleman?

Celestine Selwyn’s fox-like eyes flickered.

It was a man.

And he’d sent flowers for three months.

That was the standard recovery period for a serious injury.

The only people who knew about her hospitalization and condition were her close family and friends.

Ruling out her grandfather and Pete Selwyn…

Gideon Prescott’s striking face immediately came to mind.

She politely declined the delivery guy's request.

“If he’s my friend, he should know my address. I’ll tell him I’ve been discharged. You can wait for him to contact you.”

The delivery guy thanked her and left.

On the way home with the flowers, Celestine sent Gideon a message.

[Celestine]: Mr. Prescott, did you send these flowers?

[Celestine]: [Image]

[Celestine]: They’re beautiful ~

While waiting for Gideon’s reply, Celestine took a moment to look up the meaning of the flowers.

Just as she finished typing, his message popped up.

[Mr. Shield]: It wasn’t me.

[Celestine]: Okay~ I got out of the hospital today. I’ll treat you to dinner sometime soon.

[Mr. Shield]: This early?

Before Celestine could reply, a call came through from him.

“Are you feeling better? You’re leaving the hospital now? You could have stayed a while longer. If the Selwyn family is short on funds, I can…”

“It’s not that,” Celestine interrupted. “I’m fine now. The doctor said the fracture in my hand wasn’t very serious. Staying in the hospital any longer might actually make me more uncomfortable.”

She had been relieved to know Cynthia was being looked after.

“Are you sure you didn’t send the flowers?” Celestine suddenly pressed.

Gideon denied it without batting an eye. “Yes, it wasn’t me. But they are quite beautiful. Do you like them?”

Celestine looked at her search results, which showed the meaning of the Peruvian lily: joy and the anticipation of reunion.

A faint smile touched her lips. “I do. I like them a lot.”

“Good. Then I’ll send you a bouquet next time,” Gideon said, a gentle warmth unconsciously filling his eyes.

After they hung up, Celestine touched her own flushed cheeks.

Soon, she was back at her apartment, catching up on the work that had piled up.

The second phase of The Prescott Group's competition had been rescheduled for the fifteenth of next month.

Luckily, it was her left hand that was injured, so sketching on paper wasn't an issue.

And by next month, her left hand should be mostly healed anyway.

On top of that, Crystal Lennox had more good news for her.
