Julian! It had to be him!
He was furious that she had fought back against Toby, so he was using her mother to punish her!
When he made those threats, Willow had prepared herself mentally. She wasn't afraid of him coming after her.
But she never imagined he would stoop this low—that he would target her dying mother.
Pulling out her phone, she frantically dialed Julian's number. It rang a few times before being instantly rejected. When she tried again, the phone was turned off entirely.
Willow was backed into a corner. The hospital was threatening to kick them out, and she had nowhere to go. In her desperation, she thought of the five million dollars in her account and Mr. Vance's offer of medical resources. Steeling herself, she dialed his number.
The call connected almost instantly, so fast that Willow hadn't even formulated what she was going to say.
Arthur Vance spoke first. "Ms. Horgan, is there something you need?"
"Is this a good time?" Willow asked, carefully choosing her words.
"Of course. Whatever it is, just tell me," Arthur replied directly.
Willow didn't hesitate anymore. "I wanted to ask... do you happen to have any connections with the medical resources in New York City?"
Now wasn't the time to hide things. "My mother was just diagnosed with acute leukemia, and her current hospital is forcing her to transfer out. It's an absolute emergency, and I can't find a suitable hospital on such short notice. I really have no other options, which is why I'm bothering you with this. But if it's too difficult, just pretend I never asked, and I'll figure something else out."
