Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 166

Julian didn't elaborate. He just gave a terse "Yeah."

After breakfast, they headed to the office together. In the car, Vivienne's phone rang. It was Clarence Vance.

She knew instantly it was bad news. It was always bad news with him, likely something about the Merit project. Not wanting to deal with a crisis in front of Julian, she hit decline. But Clarence, oblivious to the social cues, called right back.

"Aren't you going to answer?" Julian glanced at the screen. "If he's calling back, it must be urgent."

She forced a smile, feeling cornered. "I will."

She swiped to answer, plastering on a sugary tone. "Mr. Vance, what can I do for you this early?"

On the other end of the line, Clarence nearly dropped his phone. He wasn't used to Vivienne being polite; she usually barked orders and insulted his intelligence.

He sensed he had caught her at a bad time, but he had no choice. The moment he walked into his office, Willow had forwarded an email shredding the Sinclair Group's latest proposal. She demanded immediate revisions, or the project timeline would be compromised.

Clarence didn't dare delay. He relayed the message to Vivienne, carefully softening the blow. He didn't mention Willow, only the required edits.

Even with his careful phrasing, the word "revisions" triggered Vivienne. Her polite facade cracked. "Excuse me? Revisions again? How many times is this? Is she ever going to be satisfied?"
