Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 168

Even after buckling in, Willow tried one last time. "Just dropping me at the subway is perfectly fine."

Silas ignored the request. He already knew her address and simply steered the car into traffic. By the time Willow realized they were passing the station, it was too late to protest.

She wasn't about to cause a scene and demand he pull over. Rejecting a gesture from a CEO of his standing bordered on rude.

The car was enveloped in a quiet tension. After a few blocks, Willow felt compelled to fill the silence. "What a coincidence, running into you after work twice."

Coincidence? Silas didn't think so. The elevator encounter wasn't an accident, and neither was this.

He had been monitoring her schedule all day, sending Arthur to the twenty-fifth floor for trivial updates. When she finally left her office, he was waiting in the lobby, timing his exit perfectly to follow her out.

He didn't believe in coincidences; he believed in creating opportunities.

"Very coincidental," Silas agreed smoothly.

He glanced at her. The dim interior lights and passing streetlamps cast a soft glow over her delicate profile. The flutter of her eyelashes seemed to tug directly at his chest.

A car cut into their lane, forcing his eyes back to the road. He picked up the conversation. "Working late on a snowy night. Too much on your plate?"

"No." Her current workload was a breeze compared to her past grinds. "I just wanted to wait out the rush hour crowds."
