Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 201

Silas had no intention of teaching her just so someone else could reap the benefits. What he nurtured, he kept.

He refused to let go of her fork, thoroughly mixing the food on her plate before sliding it back in front of her. "You can eat now."

Despite his permission, Willow didn't dive right in. She placed her silverware down and sat up straight. "I'll wait for you."

Looking at her well-behaved posture, Silas felt a wave of affection wash over him. He couldn't bear to keep her waiting. "Fair enough."

This time, he mixed his own food with significantly less care, rushing through the motions so she wouldn't have to wait.

"Go ahead," he said once he was done.

Like an eager student following instructions, Willow immediately took a polite bite.

"How is it?" he asked.

Maybe it was entirely psychological, or maybe he genuinely had a better technique, but her lunch tasted inexplicably better today.

"It's really good," she said.

It was just a simple lunch special. Silas knew she was likely just flattering him, but he couldn't help the surge of satisfaction.

"There's something else I want to run by you," he said.

"Of course. Whatever it is, I'll do my best."

"Oh, you can definitely do this." Silas actually didn't have much of an appetite. He preferred watching her eat. He set his fork down, resting his full attention on her. "Could you drop the formalities with me? At least in private?"
