Vivienne had come prepared, so she didn't feel a single ounce of panic. She expertly shifted all the blame onto the server who had led the way. "Professor Smith, I am so incredibly sorry. I was momentarily distracted and completely missed this. I only knew this bistro offered a quiet place to relax after a meal, but I had no idea the back room was... this kind of establishment. The server must have taken us down the wrong hall. My deepest apologies."
Standing to the side, the waitress caught the cue perfectly. Trembling, she immediately bowed her head and stammered out an apology, taking full responsibility and insisting the mistake had nothing to do with Ms. Sinclair.
Seeing the terrified girl, Professor Smith couldn't bring himself to press the issue. However, any mood for relaxation was completely ruined. Without another word, he gathered his team and walked out.
The moment the doors closed behind them, the heavy silence settled over the room. The meek, apologetic facade Vivienne had just worn shattered instantly. Her warm, graceful smile vanished, leaving nothing but dark impatience in her eyes.
The waitress, who had just played along with her scheme, stood carefully to the side, too afraid to breathe.
Vivienne shot her a glance, her tone icy but approving. "You did well just now. Quick on your feet and very smart."
She pulled a thick envelope of cash from her designer bag and tossed it into the girl's hands. "Go tell your manager to register this. Consider it a tip from me. There will be an extra bonus for you at the end of the month. Oh, and from now on, whenever I come here, you will be the one serving me."
Overjoyed and shocked, the waitress thanked her profusely and quickly backed out of the room.
