Three Years Forgotten, Why Go Crazy When I Say Goodbye? novel Chapter 465

Although she didn't name any names, every single word was a direct accusation against Willow.

Smith caught the implication loud and clear. However, unlike before, he didn't immediately take her side. Nor did he reprimand Willow. He simply said coolly, "Noted."

Seeing his reaction, Vivienne knew he didn't entirely believe her. But there was no time to dwell on that now; she just needed him to change his mind and delay the evacuation.

So she pivoted back to her primary concern. "Professor, can you just give me one more week? I promise you, in a week's time, I'll deliver the results you want."

Smith was already displeased, and her relentless badgering only spiked his irritation. His voice dropped to a frigid tone. "This is my team, and I make the decisions. Based on our overall risk assessment and project overhead, pulling out now is our only viable option. This is not up for debate."

"But—"

Vivienne tried to argue further, but a sudden knock interrupted her before the door swung open. It was Jayden.

He played dumb, acting as if he had no idea Vivienne was inside, pretending he was just there to grab some paperwork. "Ms. Sinclair, you're here too?"

Vivienne was livid and couldn't be bothered to entertain him. However, Smith seized the opportunity to dismiss them both, telling her to leave with Jayden.

Vivienne obviously didn't want to go; she wasn't finished. But the choice was ripped from her hands as Jayden practically dragged her out of the room by force.

"What the hell are you doing?" she snapped at Jayden the moment they were in the hallway.

Jayden pulled her to the side, his gaze dark as he hissed a warning. "Cool it. Stop harassing him. The Professor despises it when people throw tantrums in public. The more you push, the more he'll dig his heels in, and you'll burn any bridge you have left."
