Willow had zero interest in engaging. Their petty, high-school bullying tactics meant absolutely nothing to her anymore. Annoyed by her total lack of a reaction, Seth decided to escalate. He aggressively thrust his leg forward, aiming to trip her skis and send her sprawling face-first into the snow, hoping to humiliate her just like he did in the lobby. But Willow was entirely prepared this time. The moment he lunged, she effortlessly shifted her weight, side-stepped his leg, and swept her ski right behind his boots.
With a loud, echoing crash, Seth ate snow. He hit the ice hard, instantly rolling around and shouting a string of vicious curses.
Willow stared down at him with an icy, indifferent expression, looking as though he had simply slipped on his own incompetence.
Seeing Seth thrashing in the snow, Toby shrieked and scrambled to hide completely behind Julian's legs. Lucas quickly rushed over, grabbing Seth by the jacket and dragging him to the side to check his injuries. Once they were out of the way, Julian fixed Willow with a chilling, predatory gaze.
"You need to figure out exactly where you stand, and fast. Drop this pathetic, delusional act. Sweating in a gym, pretending to learn how to ski—none of these staged little encounters will work on me. Trying to change yourself to win me back is the definition of pathetic."
For a second, Willow genuinely didn't comprehend what he was saying. When it finally clicked, a wave of disgust hit her. He seriously believed she was doing all of this for him? That she was orchestrating elaborate schemes just to cross his path? "Julian, your ego is absolutely staggering." Julian, convinced she was just playing hard to get, continued in a menacingly low tone.
"I'm only going to say this once. If you insist on stalking me and pulling these stunts, I will stop holding back." He took a menacing step closer, dropping his voice to a dark warning.
"And another thing. I don't know where you suddenly got the cash for luxury gyms and VIP ski passes, and frankly, I don't care.
But let me remind you of one undeniable fact: you are still legally bound to the Sinclair name.
If you have no self-respect, at least pretend to have some for my family. Don't you dare do anything disgusting to fund this new lifestyle."
"Excuse me? What exactly are you insinuating?" Willow snapped, her blood boiling.
"Take it literally."
A perfect, ruthless dismissal. He wasn't just suffocating her; he was openly assassinating her character. Willow forced a sharp, bitter laugh.
"Julian, you have absolutely no idea that I'm about to—"
