With that thought, Lawrence reached out and tapped lightly on the glass window.
Bonnie was already half-awake. Hearing the noise, she rubbed her eyes and groggily glanced over, catching the blinds shifting as the person on the other side fiddled with them.
Reality snapped back, and she remembered locking him in the bathroom the night before.
Seeing that she was awake, he pulled the blinds all the way up and mouthed through the glass, "Can I come out?"
She saw the teasing glint in his eyes and grabbed a pillow, hurling it right at the window. On the other side, Lawrence doubled over in silent laughter.
With her messy morning hair and grumpy expression, she was far too adorable.
Completely unaware of her bedhead, Bonnie scrambled out of bed and jogged to the bathroom door to inspect the tissue on the handle.
It was perfectly intact.
Feeling quite pleased with herself, she plucked the tissue off, tossed it into the trash, and met his amused gaze. "You can come out now! I need to wash up!" she announced brightly.
Suppressing a grin, he stepped out and slowly advanced toward her with a darkened gaze. Her eyes widened, and she instinctively backed up until she was cornered between the vanity and the wall.
Something felt different about him this morning.
He wasn't gentle anymore; there was a predatory edge to him.
When his tall frame leaned over, trapping her by planting one hand on the counter and the other on the wall, warning bells finally went off in her head.
She raised her hands to push his chest, but he felt like a solid wall of muscle, not budging an inch.
"What are you doing..." she stammered, losing her bravado.
He leaned in closer, and she arched back. It felt exactly like he was about to kiss her. Her heart hammered wildly against her ribs, and her eyelashes fluttered like butterfly wings in sheer panic.
