Three years of loving him, three days to erase myself from his world novel Chapter 154

Clara's face drained of color. She swayed, reaching out blindly to grab onto something for support, but grasped empty air. Her balance gave out entirely, and she tipped backward.

Dominic was just reaching for a cigarette when he saw her suddenly collapse backward. His heart skipped a beat, a sharp panic gripping his chest.

He lunged forward, catching her firmly in his arms. One arm wrapped securely around her waist, his other hand supporting her shoulder. His brow furrowed with deep concern, his voice laced with a tension he hadn't realized was there. "Clara, are you okay?"

Clara leaned weakly against his broad shoulder. Her mind was a hazy blur, yet a strange sense of profound security washed over her. It felt as though they had held each other like this a thousand times before.

Without thinking, she reached up, her fingers grazing the sharp line of his jaw. She murmured something barely audible.

Dominic completely froze. He instinctively pulled her closer, terrified of shattering the fragile perfection of the moment. He lowered his voice to a whisper. "What did you say?"

Clara blinked, her eyes hazy.

She had absolutely no idea what had just slipped past her lips.

Suddenly registering that she was caressing his face, reality crashed back into her.

A flush crept up her cheeks, and her mind instantly snapped into focus. She quickly looked down, pushing off his shoulder to stand upright. She stammered out a messy explanation. "Nothing... I'm so sorry, Mr. Jarrett."

"I... I really need to go. Thank you for catching me."

Her head was still spinning, but she couldn't stay a second longer. Face burning with embarrassment, she hurried away.

Dominic remained rooted to the spot, his brow tight, his heart hammering wildly against his ribs. He hadn't recovered from the shock.

If he wasn't mistaken, she had just called him Dominic.

But why?

A thrilling, impossible thought surfaced in his mind. He immediately took a step to chase after her.

But before he could move, a cold voice sliced through the air. "Dominic Jarrett!"

Julian strode toward him. He had been standing right behind them, witnessing the entire exchange—the embrace, the way Clara had touched Dominic's face.

Dominic stopped, turning slowly to face him. Taking in Julian's aggressive posture, he offered a mocking smirk. "Can I help you with something, Mr. Lowell?"
