Three years of loving him, three days to erase myself from his world novel Chapter 181

Julian Lowell pulled Clara Vance downstairs and out the main doors; the stunning couple drew countless stares along the way.

Clara bit her lip.

Julian's face was ice-cold as he opened the rear car door and shoved her inside, then bent to slide in after her, casually hitting a red button to raise the privacy partition.

Burning with humiliation, Clara immediately reached to open the door on the opposite side.

Anticipating this, Julian wrapped a large hand around her waist, dragging her into his arms with an irresistible force. His other hand gripped her delicate chin, his thumb gently rubbing the fine skin near the corner of her lips as his expression darkened.

"You don't love me anymore. Is that the truth?"

As he asked the question, he wasn't sure if he was mostly furious, or if there was something else entirely.

Something like paranoia, or overwhelming possessiveness...

Clara was practically lying against his chest, her face burning with immense shame.

She struggled against him with all her might. "Yes! I don't love you anymore! And I never will again! Let me go!"

Julian narrowed his eyes. Seeing the absolute finality in her gaze, his indescribable frustration flared hotter, and the fingers gripping her chin subconsciously tightened.

He wanted to crush her.

Clara let out a muffled groan of pain, tears prickling her eyes as her voice trembled. "Let me go..."

Julian snapped back to reality slightly, his gaze darkening when he saw the redness rimming the girl's eyes. Only then did he loosen his grip.

Clara immediately pushed against his chest...

Julian was faster, snatching her wrist in time to yank her back.

"Clara..." His eyes were endlessly deep, his Adam's apple bobbing with restraint as he tried to speak...

Right at that moment.

A phone began to ring.

It was a custom ringtone. Seraphina Shaw.

Clara practically had a stress response to the sound, disgust washing over her.

She wrenched her hand free, unable to hold back a sarcastic jab.

"Seraphina must know what happened at the club by now. You'd better hurry up and console her! Otherwise, the poor girl might get her feelings hurt!"

Julian's face fell, his eyes locking onto hers. "Do you not need me to stay with you?"

Clara paused.

Truthfully, this was exactly the kind of tender consideration she had yearned for just a while ago.

But back then, he had completely ignored her. She never knew if he thought she should just endure it, or if he believed her grievances didn't matter...
