Three years of loving him, three days to erase myself from his world novel Chapter 192

He had followed her all the way from the coffee shop.

But it seemed he had arrived at the wrong time...

Dominic's eyes darkened as his gaze flicked to his phone sitting on the console.

The screen was pitch black. Not a single notification.

It appeared she had completely forgotten about him.

Dominic took a deep breath. Deep down, he knew exactly why Julian had sought Clara out; in their elite circle, there were no real secrets.

He figured Clara had agreed. Otherwise, Julian wouldn't have walked out looking so satisfied.

Why did she agree?

Did she still have feelings for him?

Dominic's gaze turned somber. A sudden urge for a cigarette hit him, accompanied by a suffocating tightness in his chest.

He didn't light up.

Instead, he let the uncomfortable ache wash over him. After a long moment, he picked up his phone and sent Clara an anonymous message:

[Watch out for Seraphina.]

The very next second, his phone vibrated. It wasn't a reply to the text, but rather a direct message from Clara:

[I'm so sorry, Mr. Jarrett. An emergency came up today, and I couldn't make it to the coffee shop. I'll come find you next time. I feel terrible about this.]

Dominic's dark eyes shifted. It was as if he had been abruptly pulled from the shadows into the blinding sunlight.

He replied: [It's fine. Something came up on my end too, so I couldn't make it either. Don't worry about it.]

Seeing his response instantly eased the heavy guilt weighing on Clara.

She let out a sigh of relief: [Mr. Jarrett, I'll treat you to dinner another day so we can chat properly.]

[Sounds good.]

After sending the message, Dominic stared at the chat history for a long time before finally putting his phone away.

For some inexplicable reason, he couldn't shake the feeling that Clara was Sarah West. Over the past few days, that intuition had only grown stronger...

Over the years, there had been no shortage of people trying to push women on him—young, beautiful, seductive, and provocative. Those who knew of his past even handpicked women who looked remarkably like Sarah and sent them straight to his room.

Without exception, he had rejected every single one.

Clara was the only difference...

It was just a gut feeling!
