Three years of loving him, three days to erase myself from his world novel Chapter 206

Julian looked over. The bizarre noise in the kitchen was still going on, echoing ominously. If a girl heard that out of nowhere, she would definitely be frightened.

Julian frowned.

He offered her a few words of comfort, telling her to wait there, and then headed into the kitchen to investigate.

"Wait here for me, I'll go take a look."

"Don't be scared. I'm right here."

"..."

Hearing his words, Clara's heart seemed to skip a beat. Perhaps it was just a natural reaction to someone offering comfort when she was afraid.

She gently bit her lip.

A moment later, Julian discovered that a drainpipe had burst. The rushing water was hitting the metal cabinet doors and the basin, which caused the terrifying racket.

Clara paced anxiously outside. "...What is it?"

Her voice was soft and delicate, incredibly pleasant to the ear.

Julian thought, entirely inappropriately for the situation.

He chuckled, feeling like a scoundrel.

"It's nothing, just a broken pipe. Go turn off the main water valve and bring me the toolbox. I'll fix it."

Clara was stunned. "A broken pipe?"

Then she walked closer, poking her small head around the glass door, and asked uncertainly, "You... you know how to fix it? Why don't I just call a repairman..."

Julian shrugged off his soaked suit jacket. Underneath, his white shirt clung tightly to his sculpted chest, exuding pure masculine allure.

Hearing her, he paused in putting down his coat. Turning back to look at the deeply skeptical girl behind him, he gave a half-smile and scoffed, "You think I can't handle it?"

His words carried a dangerously suggestive undertone...

But then she thought about everything he had done for Seraphina Shaw—it was surely far grander than this!

Reality crashed down on her instantly.

Just as the man finished the repair and stood up, she took a soft breath and handed him a dry towel. When she spoke, her voice was a little hoarse.

"Thank you for the trouble. Wipe yourself off first. I'll go draw a bath for you so you can wash up."

Julian looked at her. As he grabbed the towel, he deliberately caught her small hand along with it.

"What's wrong? Your eyes are red."

Clara's eyelashes fluttered. She turned her head away, trying to pull her hand free. "Nothing. Let me go."

Julian was a master at reading people; how could he not see right through her?

He didn't let go. Instead, he slowly crowded into her space, pinning her between the glass door and his solid chest. He looked down at her, his dark eyes bottomless, and murmured, "It's because of me, isn't it?"
