Three years of loving him, three days to erase myself from his world novel Chapter 352

The sterile scent of disinfectant...

Clara woke up in a haze, staring at the stark white ceiling as her five senses gradually reassembled.

The physical trauma, the agonizing pain in her arm, forced the tears from her eyes.

With red-rimmed eyes, she slowly turned her head to look at her right arm, a single crystal-like tear slipping from the corner of her eye.

A comminuted fracture!

She would never be able to draw again!

Her dreams were shattered!

Her career was over!

"Sob..."

Clara let out a choked, sorrowful sob. The agony washed over her, wave after wave like a relentless tide, crushing her spirit over and over again.

"Clara!"

Suddenly, the ward door was pushed open.

Rosalie Vance rushed in, looking exhausted from the road. The moment she saw her younger sister's pale, haggard face on the bed, tears of sheer heartbreak spilled down her cheeks.

She stumbled forward, leaning over the edge of the bed to gently take her sister's hand.

"Clara, Clara... I'm so sorry..."

Clara froze slightly, lifting her deeply sorrowful eyes to look at her sister. Another tear slid down her face. "Rosalie..."

Hearing her name called out like that made Rosalie's heart ache fiercely. She leaned down and gently pulled her into an embrace.

"My poor Clara, you've suffered so much. It's all my fault..."

Clara choked up, the lump in her throat making it too painful to speak.

The two sisters held onto each other for a long moment.

Once Clara's emotions had somewhat stabilized, she sniffled, suddenly remembering something. Gently pulling away from her sister, she asked, "Rosalie, how did you know I was in the hospital?"

Rosalie's eyes were still red. "Mr. Jarrett called me. The moment I heard you were in an accident, I rushed straight over."

Clara paused, entirely taken aback by Dominic's thoughtfulness. She didn't even know how to begin to thank him.

Pushing her thoughts aside, she asked, "Is Miles alone at the hospital right now? How is he doing?"

Speaking of this made her chest ache. "Everything happened so fast... I never made it to the cardiac center..."

Rosalie patted her shoulder, her voice thick with guilt. "Clara, please don't blame yourself. Ultimately, my impulsiveness caused this. If it weren't for me, you never would have been in this accident..."

Clara frowned and gripped her sleeve. "Rosalie!"

Knowing Clara didn't want her to feel guilty, Rosalie nodded tearfully.

"Okay, I won't talk about it. Miles is doing a bit better. We have the heart donor, and the surgeon is confirmed. Don't worry."

Clara hesitated, her fingers curling inward. "Did... Julian Lowell help?"

"...He did tell the specialists to come back, but I refused his help. Miles's current attending surgeon was found by the hospital, an absolute authority in cardiothoracic surgery. And the heart donor was newly approved through proper channels. There won't be any more slip-ups."

Clara instantly understood. Her sister was protecting her, refusing to have anything to do with Julian anymore. Her heart felt both a bitter ache and a deep warmth.

But thankfully, the hospital had stepped up to find a new doctor and secure a donor for Miles.
