“We are going now,” I grow as I pace around the around the room. I want my mate back. Zviad wants her back. Markus and Aziz want her back. My poor Rose wants her mom back. She has not stopped crying over the last two days since Amalie was taken. Uncle William has snapped at everyone, demanding that we go find Amalie as soon as possible.
“We’re ready,” Sara says from where she is painting symbols on the floor of the meeting hall. She looks up and makes eye contact with Sam, before she blushes and looks down.
I want to snap that they can moon over each other after we get Amalie back.
‘All new mates are in the state of bliss and mooning,‘ Zviad sighs. He is upset too, but he knows it is not Sam or Sara’s fault.
‘I know, I just want our mate back and to make sure our pup is okay,‘ I sigh in return.
“The plan,” Markus growls at James who is waiting off to the side.
“You both, Kira, Vickie and Jimmy are going in first. Kira is going to lead you around the place and show you where she thinks that they will have Ama,”
James answers.
“Good,” I growl.
“Sara opens the door to there a minute later. I lead thirty of our warriors through to cause a distraction,” James finishes.
“Sara opens another portal, and I lead another group of fifty warriors as back up,” Nickolas answers.
“I then go last with Sam and get to those that are not loyal to the Countess. We offer support to those who need it,” Sara says as she looks me in the eye.
“You are sure that the charms you made will keep magic from affecting us?” Markus asks as he looks at the bracelet he is wearing.
“The charm will hold long enough for me to rally support of those who do not support the Countess, Sara says with a firm nod.
She then draws a final symbol before she motions us forward. Our first group steps into the large circle. Sara chants, language that I have never heard of.
I cannot see for a second, a sensation that has my wolf growling. When my vision clears, we are in a dark room.
“This way,” Kira says as she opens a door. She looks around and leads us from the room.
Kira peaks around corner before continuing on. We continue on this way for a few more hallways before we hear noises. Kira races down the hall before she is pressing on the wall. It slides soundlessly open and the five of us dash inside. The wall slides closed.
Almost a dozen people stare at us with wide eyes. The people range from all ages.
“How did you find us?” a man says as he pulls a silver knife.
“Sara sent us!” Kira says as she places her hands up in front of her to show she meant no harm.
A woman shoves herself forwards to stand in front of Kira. “We thought you dead?” a woman says as she pulls Kira into a hug. She pushes Kira away and inspects Kira’s face.
“I found my mate and Danny wanted me to remain with his pack,” she says with tears in her eyes.
“Then why are you here?” the man demands as he continues to eye me suspiciously.
“Her mate is our Beta. Kira is our Beta female,” Markus says. “Please, we need help finding our mate.”
The room looks around in confusion.
“The white wolf is our mate,” I say, trying not to growl with anger. We are wasting time.
“The ceremony has already begun,” a child speaks up.
“Cece is right. The Countess began almost an hour ago,” the man says.
“Where is the ceremony?” Kira demands as her wolf pushes forward.
“In the dungeon chamber,” the man answers.
