Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 115

Tristan's brow instantly furrowed as his gaze snapped to Nova.

From the depths of his eyes, Nova could read exactly what he was thinking. He thought she was trying to trick the old lady into believing the baby hadn't been lost in the fall.

Predictably, Belinda misunderstood as well.

"What? The baby didn't miscarry? Yours and Tristan's baby is still safe in your tummy?"

A bright gleam of hope returned to the old lady's eyes.

Even Abdul, Felipa, and the others, who had rushed in upon hearing the commotion, froze in their tracks, staring blankly at Nova's stomach.

It was true that some pregnancies were incredibly resilient—surviving falls, mountain climbs, and even spotting without an issue.

But the chances were astronomically low.

Could Nova really have...

"The baby is still alive, but it's not in my stomach." Nova paused, holding Belinda's hand with a smile, before dropping the final sentence: "Yvette is pregnant!"

In an instant, the hospital room descended into a dead, absolute silence.

Tristan glared at Nova, his brows locked tight.

Felipa was the first to react. Grabbing Yasmin, she spun around and bolted out to call Yvette to confirm how far along she was!

Meanwhile, the anger in Abdul's chest was completely overtaken by joy. He actually initiated conversation with Nova. "When did this happen? Why are you only telling us now?"

Seeing that Nova was ignoring him, he wasn't even mad; he just turned to Tristan. "When did this happen?"

Tristan didn't answer. He just kept his eyes narrowed at Nova.

Nova was still smiling, her eyes focused entirely on Belinda, completely ignoring everyone else.

But Nova didn't see a shred of anticipation or joy in Belinda's eyes. Instead, there was only pity, agony, and deep empathy...

Nova's heart gave a sharp ache.

Then she heard Tristan say, "Grandma, I'm going to take her outside. I need to have a word with her."

Behind them, Belinda was quietly wiping her tears.

Once they were in an empty hallway, Tristan asked, "Is this what you meant by making her happy?"

Nova looked at him, remembering the day before she fell, when she had gone to Chuck Clayton's office to pour him water.

She had overheard Chuck on speakerphone.

—'Since you and Yvette are so deeply in love, you could just have her get pregnant early. Then take Nova to the hospital and get rid of her kid. By the time your grandmother finds out, it'll be too late for her to mourn Nova's baby. After all, she'll have a new great-grandchild, and she'll cherish yours and Yvette's baby even more. What do you think?'

Tristan had seemingly murmured an agreement.

Or maybe he hadn't. None of it mattered anymore.

Nova simply looked back at him and said, "If Yvette is pregnant, this is the perfect time to ease Grandma's grief. No matter how much she dislikes Yvette, she won't take it out on the baby and force an abortion."

"If she isn't pregnant yet, well, the words are already out there. You can just make sure she gets pregnant soon. Once the deed is done, even if Grandma finds out the truth later, she won't blame you, for the child's sake. Besides..."

Besides, Chuck Clayton and your friends already advised you to do exactly this, didn't they?

But Nova didn't say that part out loud.
