Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 121

"What are you doing?"

Just as Nova Clarke pulled open the drawer to grab her ID, a hand shot out from the bed, wrapping firmly around her wrist.

She followed the arm up.

Tristan Forrester was shirtless, his torso revealing the chiseled, strictly disciplined lines of a man who demanded perfection from himself. A simple white towel was wrapped low around his waist.

Meeting those intensely oppressive eyes, her heart inexplicably tightened.

She was still afraid of him. A deep-seated fear rooted in her bones—perhaps because of his overwhelming power, or perhaps because of the sheer coldness and pain he had inflicted upon her.

Unable to distinguish the exact reason, Nova steadied her nerves and spoke.

"Aren't we getting a divorce? I'm preparing to move out. I've already found a place next to CN Dynamics. If Belinda asks, I'll play along and tell her I moved there for an easier commute."

Belinda was seriously ill and couldn't handle any shock. Nova understood that much.

Hearing this, Tristan didn't immediately release her wrist.

He stared at her for a long moment, the depths of his dark eyes unreadable.

Just as she instinctively tried to pull away, he let go.

"Have you signed the divorce papers?" Nova asked, her voice devoid of emotion.

Tristan sat up but didn't answer.

Nova noticed the untreated wounds on his back, still seeping faint traces of blood.

He didn't look well. Was he... running a fever?

Now that she thought about it, his skin had felt unnaturally hot when he grabbed her wrist.

The silent man suddenly turned his head, his pitch-black eyes locking onto hers. His voice was incredibly hoarse. "Put some medicine on my back."

Nova glanced at the first-aid kit beside him.

She suddenly remembered how he had gotten those injuries.
