Just thinking about how Tristan hadn't even spared Nova a single glance back there made Chloe's heart ache for her.
She turned her head, ready to encourage her friend to vent and curse him out to blow off some steam.
But when she looked at the passenger seat, she saw Nova staring at her laptop screen with a bright, confident smile illuminating her face!
Chloe leaned closer. "Holy crap! What kind of mind-blowing gift is this?!"
Nova hadn't expected her professor's birthday gift to be this incredible, either.
"Admission to the top university's advanced study program, security clearance for their highest-level confidential research lab, a joint invitation from two of the world's leading academic institutes, and a fast-track application for a specialized degree upgrade."
She was absolutely thrilled.
"Chloe, you have to remember this too. Never feel wronged over what someone else refuses to give you. The only things that truly matter are what you hold in your own hands—the skills you learn and the opportunities you seize to elevate yourself!"
She turned back to emphasize the point to her friend.
What else could Chloe possibly say? Compared to this, the time Yvette had stolen amounted to nothing but garbage. The sheer prestige of these opportunities was on an entirely different level!
No, they couldn't even be compared!
Even if Yvette wanted this, she didn't possess a fraction of the capability required to get it!
Suddenly, a message accompanied by an image popped up on the screen.
It was from Tobias Stratton, the government project head: *Happy Birthday, Aro. The item has been delivered to your place. Remember to sign for it later. Just a small token of appreciation. I hope you accept it.*
Nova stared at the photo of the green jade thumb ring, completely stunned.
Her mother's relic was back in her hands.
"Wait, wasn't that bought by Yvette at the auction?" Chloe asked.
