Caspian frowned. "If what you're saying is true, then I think I need to have a talk with Mr. Wyndham and knock some sense into him. Keeping someone like Nova around top-secret company information while firing you... that's completely ridiculous. It never should have happened!"

Yvette nodded. "If necessary, I can talk to him too. I don't hold a grudge against him for letting me go. He was probably just blinded by Nova's manipulations."

Caspian's fondness and respect for Yvette immediately multiplied.

Yvette headed back to the venue first. Before she even reached the main hall, she was intercepted halfway by someone looking to discuss a potential partnership. His last name was Zimmerman.

Back inside the venue, Nova felt there wasn't much left to see. This so-called elite tech summit was honestly nothing special.

As for the tech displays, she did pull out her phone to snap pictures of a few products, patiently answering Chloe Zimmerman's questions about how they worked.

Chloe, however, was completely distracted.

That was because she noticed her brother over by Yvette. He was listening to the woman speak with absolute confidence, his eyes full of admiration.

"He's a lost cause," Chloe muttered.

"What's wrong?" Nova snapped out of her thoughts and looked at Chloe, then followed her friend's gaze just as she looked away from Yvette's direction.

At that moment, Yvette was deep in conversation with an incredibly handsome, elegant man.

Nova looked away, only to immediately catch Tristan's gaze locking onto her from across the room.

She didn't know if her mind was playing tricks on her, but it almost looked like Tristan raised a slight eyebrow at her, his eyes filled with appreciation.
