It was Tristan.
She hadn't expected to run into him in such a humiliating situation.
In the moment their eyes met, Nova’s first instinct was that his car had been parked there for a while.
When Yvette was stopped by Caspian on her birthday, Tristan had immediately stepped in to help her.
Now that it was her turn...
Nova knew Tristan wouldn't lift a finger to help her.
Sure enough, Caspian's bodyguards grabbed her, trying to force her into the car.
Tristan had already looked away, and his car window slowly rolled up.
His message was clear: he wouldn't interfere, didn't want to, and had no reason to.
Tristan's car disappeared from her line of sight.
Even though Nova had long since woken up to the reality of their relationship, witnessing his coldness and apathy still sent a sharp ache through her chest.
She glared at Caspian, instinctively shielding her stomach, prepared to tell the bodyguards to get their hands off her and that she would walk on her own.
But just then, Caspian received a phone call, and the color drained from his face.
He shot Nova a cold glare and snapped, "Consider yourself lucky today."
With that, he ordered his bodyguards back into the car and sped off.
Standing under the night sky, Nova looked out at the glowing city lights. The biting wind whipped past, and she pulled her coat tighter, shivering.
Meanwhile, a Rolls-Royce was parked discreetly a short distance away.
Justin Lockwood glanced at the rearview mirror. "Mr. Forrester, it looks like she's crying."
Tristan replied impassively, "Is she?"
Justin nodded. "Yes... And it seems her car broke down. It's freezing out there. Perhaps we should offer her a ride?"
Tristan didn't say yes, but he didn't say no either.
Reading his boss's silence, Justin stepped out of the car and walked over to Nova.
Nova's nose was red from the cold. It was rush hour, and the tow truck wouldn't arrive anytime soon.
