"She's been up for a while now," Felipa spoke first, pointing to the dishes she had made with obvious frustration.

"Just look at Nova. I spent all morning trying to figure out her tastes, woke up early, and worked so hard to make these dishes, but she won't even touch them. You're here right on time. Eat with her so she can get her health back."

This tattletale routine had played out countless times in the past.

Nova glanced over at Felipa. Perhaps feeling guilty for all the times she had made things difficult for Nova in the past, Felipa quickly backpedaled. "If you eat with her, she'll probably eat more. Breakfast is the most important meal."

Tristan cast a glance at the breakfast spread and said calmly, "She has some tests to do in a bit, so she needs to fast for now."

Nova frowned at Tristan. "Tests?"

Tristan nodded. "Yes. I've ordered a full body checkup for you."

He handed her the referral slip. Among the listed tests was an ultrasound. The moment the probe touched her stomach, they would know one of her babies was still alive.

It also included a full body scan.

That involved high levels of radiation. Being pregnant, there was no way she could undergo such a procedure!

Felipa leaned over to take a look, her tone full of concern. "Oh, these are excellent screening tests. Nova, be a good girl and go with Tristan. Mom will go heat up the food, and you two can eat when you get back."

Abdul glanced at it as well, voiced his approval, and urged Nova to hurry along.

Nova didn't know if their concern was genuine or fake, but there was no way on earth she was going to do these tests.

Following Tristan outside, and making sure no one else was around, Nova finally spoke up. "I've already caused you enough trouble, so let's skip the tests. Later, I'll just tell them I got everything done."

Tristan silently turned to face her. "You're very resistant to this. Reason?"

Nova couldn't exactly tell him the truth.
