Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 209

Returning to the table, Tristan glanced down at the icy glass and gestured to the waiter. "Swap that out for a hot drink."

The unexpected flash of consideration caught her off guard. She pressed her lips together, her gaze drifting toward him instinctively.

The waiter promptly returned with a steaming cup of tea. Looking closely at Nova, he politely asked, "Pardon me, but you look like you're recovering from a recent delivery. We offer specialized postpartum nutritional meals. Would you like to order one?"

Nova's heart slammed against her ribs. Pure panic seized her at the thought of Tristan piecing the clues together.

"No, thank you," she denied instantly, her tone a little too sharp. "I haven't had a baby. I'm dressed like this because I'm battling an illness, that's all."

The mere thought of little Latonia fighting for her life in the incubator brought a stinging flush to her eyes.

No matter what happened, she would die before letting him discover her daughter.

As she raised her gaze to gauge Tristan's reaction, her eyes met a chilling sight just a few feet away. It was Kieran, wearing a sickening smirk aimed right at her.

Locking eyes with her, he mouthed a single, mocking word: *Fake.*

Realizing he was spotted, he strolled right over to their table. "Sorry I'm late."

Tristan didn't even glance up, simply giving a slight nod to gesture toward the seat next to him.

Kieran slid in beside Tristan, leaving Nova sitting alone on the opposite side of the booth.

The visual divide perfectly illustrated her reality—she was completely alone against the two of them.

Yet, as she stared at Kieran, the raw hatred in her eyes condensed into something lethal.

If it weren't for him, Latonia wouldn't have been ripped from her womb so brutally early. If it weren't for him, her newborn wouldn't be facing a terrifying, uncertain future!

It all suddenly made sense. Tristan hadn't sought her out of concern; he had tracked her down specifically to stage this ambush.

Leaning back casually, Kieran drawled, "I would've been here earlier, but I just witnessed a hilarious little show. Some desperate woman was aggressively stalking a guy who clearly couldn't care less about her. She pulled out all the stops—faking an illness, playing the ultimate victim, even checking herself into the hospital. I bet she was thinking, 'Once I'm on my deathbed, he'll finally rush to my side!' Well, take a wild guess how that ended for her, Tristan?"
