"This designer is incredibly hard to book. I had to pull a lot of strings to get her," Felipa told Nova, pulling her closer. "Tristan picked out your fabrics, now you pick one for him. A traditional button-down jacket would look very sharp on him."

Nova realized Tristan was still hovering around. He seemed surprisingly free today, with no rush to head to the office.

Catching her gaze, Tristan obediently stepped back to her side, his hand resting lightly and protectively on her waist. "Pick one."

Nova felt slightly on edge. She couldn't tell if she was overthinking it, but Tristan felt... different today.

Wanting to get this over with as quickly as possible, she selected a dark fabric with a subtle, black-on-black bamboo leaf pattern. The material was exquisite; in direct light, the black bamboo leaves shimmered into view, while in the shadows, it looked like a solid, deep matte black.

"Will this work?" Nova asked.

"Yes." Tristan nodded and withdrew his hand. His long, elegant fingers brushed over the dark fabric. The texture was exceptionally soft; he didn't hate it.

Plus, black and bamboo leaves were both elements he favored.

"You and your husband have such a wonderful relationship. Is there anything else you'd like?"

The designer had flown in from Portshire, so her Mandarin wasn't very fluent.

Tristan switched to Cantonese to speak with her.
