Tonight Her Love Ended novel Chapter 253

She frowned, completely failing to understand what Tristan was trying to achieve.

She didn't know if it was just her imagination, but a moment ago, he had seemed highly displeased. Now, the sharp, biting edge in his eyes had receded.

She looked up, meeting his deep, unfathomable gaze. It was impossible to read his emotions, yet his eyes were bottomless.

Nova's heart gave an abrupt jolt as his low, steady voice broke the silence. "What was it you needed last night?"

"Last night..." Nova knew this was hardly the time or place to discuss The Heartland, but since he was asking, she couldn't exactly keep quiet.

"I want to ask you to transfer The Heartland to me. I'm willing to pay for it."

Tristan watched her move. She was uncoordinated, practically clueless on the dance floor.

His hand on her waist tightened slightly. "You pick up everything else fast enough. It's just a dance; you can master this just as quickly."

Nova didn't want to dance. He was standing far too close, his hand resting intimately on her waist, and her entire body screamed in resistance.

But the arrow had left the bow; there was no turning back.

Guided by Tristan, she cast a quick glance at the footwork of the women dancing nearby. Within seconds, she grasped the rhythm. She went from totally uncoordinated to testing the waters, and finally, smoothly matching his steps.

When Nova looked back up at Tristan, she caught what looked like a soothing, appreciative smile on his face.

She frowned, quickly realizing the smile wasn't for her.

Chuck and Yvette had just walked into the ballroom.

He hadn't managed to wipe away the reassuring smile meant for Yvette quickly enough, and Nova had simply caught it in transit.

And Yvette, predictably, was smiling right back at him.

"What exactly are you offering to negotiate with?" Tristan finally asked her.

Nova pressed her lips together.
