Wherever he passed, socialites and young ladies would steal glances at him, their admiration barely concealed.

Allison was having a lively conversation with Brandon when someone suddenly tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around to find Kane wearing his signature mischievous grin.

“Did you snag your favorite item?” Kane flashed a dazzling smile and reached out to Brandon. “Long time no see, Mr. Levy.”

“Long time no see,” Brandon replied, his smile polite and refined.

Allison raised her brows slightly. “You two know each other?”

Kane shrugged with a lazy grin. “Come on, who doesn’t know Klamdiff’s richest man?”

As they were chatting, the music kicked in.

Kane reached out to Allison, inviting her to dance. She flashed him a bright smile and slipped her hand into his, letting him lead her onto the dance floor.

Watching the two of them looking like such a perfect pair on the dance floor, Clifford sidled up to Brandon with a teasing grin. “So, what do you think? Looks like you’ve finally got some real competition.”

Brandon didn’t seem bothered at all. He glanced over and spotted Brianna dancing with Clair.

His smile faded instantly, and just as he was about to head over, a slender hand landed on his shoulder.

He turned to find Darcy standing there in a soft pink dress, looking at him like a graceful lady.

“Brandon, it’s been a while,” Darcy said.

The airy fabric of her dress hugged her belly, and her baby bump was impossible to miss.

Brandon looked surprised for a moment, then smiled. “When did you get back?”

There wasn’t a hint of reproach in Brandon’s voice, just like the old days. He was still the big brother who always looked out for Darcy, no matter how much trouble she got into.

“I just got back a couple days ago,” Darcy said with a playful laugh.

As they chatted, the song came to an end.

Brianna was laughing and chatting with Clair when she caught a glimpse of Darcy out of the corner of her eye. She paused mid-step

She narrowed her eyes, gave a mocking chuckle, and headed straight for Darcy.

“Brianna, long time no see,” Darcy said, her radiant smile lighting up her face as she rested a hand on her baby bump, eyes brimming with self-satisfied pride.

“Well, isn’t it nice to have you back,” Brianna replied, a flash of challenge in her gaze.

“I heard Brandon splurged 115 million on a necklace for you tonight. You really are blessed,” Darcy said, her voice laced with sarcasm.

“That’s right,” Brianna said, purposely looping her arm through Brandon’s. “If you want to flaunt your love, only the real deal counts.”

As the music started up again, Allison walked over, completely ignoring everyone else as she locked eyes with Brandon. “Brandon, aren’t you going to ask me to dance?”

Brandon’s face lit up with that indulgent look that said he’d let her have whatever she wanted. “It would be my honor.”

As Brandon and Allison walked off, leaving just Darcy and Brianna alone together.

The animosity between them was impossible to miss.

With Brandon out of sight, neither of them had to pretend anymore.

“So, you still don’t plan on divorcing Brandon?” Darcy asked, her lips curling into a smug smile.

“Not a chance. And definitely not because of you,” Brianna replied, dead serious.

“You’re just like your mom,” Darcy sneered, rolling her eyes. “Maybe you should hang up a sign that says ‘Endurance Queen.”

“You’re just like your mom too,” Brianna shot back, copying her tone. “You might as well put up a ‘house of mistresses’ plaque for yourself.”

Darcy’s eyes narrowed in fury as she glared daggers at Brianna. ‘She’s changed. She’s not the pushover she used to be.’

She struggled to keep her temper in check, taking a moment before finally swallowing her anger.

“Don’t celebrate too soon. The game’s not over yet,” Darcy turned and walked away.

As she left, Brianna was hit by an inexplicable sense of unease. She couldn’t shake the feeling that something bad was about to happen.

After Brandon finished his dance, Brianna quietly told him she wanted to head home.

Brandon nodded in agreement, but just as they were about to leave, Kane walked over and started talking to him.

Brianna waited, feeling more and more restless.

She looked around for Darcy, but couldn’t find her anywhere.

Suddenly, her phone lit up with a text from Darcy: [What are you looking at? Are you searching for me?]

‘Figures. That woman’s always scheming, watching my every move, Brianna thought.

for her.

The second floor was a quiet lounge area, usually deserted.

The moment Brianna reached the landing, she shot Darcy a glare. “What are you up to?”

Darcy smirked, clearly pleased with herself, and stepped closer, lowering her voice. “I want you dead.”

Brianna instinctively stepped back, grabbing the railing for support. She immediately assumed Darcy was up to her old tricks, ready to hurt her again.

Brianna was caught off guard as Darcy suddenly grabbed her hand, yanked it toward herself, and made it look like she was being pushed.

Darcy lost her footing, her piercing scream cutting through the hall as she fell hard down the stairs.

Everyone was stunned, and women’s screams rang out one after another.

Darcy hit the ground like a broken doll, blood quickly spreading across the floor beneath her.

Someone was shouting for an ambulance.

Brandon rushed over, scooping Darcy up into his arms, his face etched with worry. “Darcy? Darcy?”

Darcy forced her eyes open, tears blurring her vision as she looked up at Brandon, her voice barely above a whisper. “Brandon, my baby…”

Her words barely left her lips before she collapsed into Brandon’s arms, unconscious.
