On the trending list, three topics dominated. “Darcy Meyers fell down the stairs and lost her baby”, “Brianna Meyers was summoned by the police”, and “Brianna Meyers is the boss of Horizon Group” took over the top

spots.

The comments were overwhelmingly sympathetic toward Darcy.

It was like everyone had totally forgotten all the nasty stuff that had come out about her just a few months

ago.

Netizens really had short memories. Back then, they were dragging Darcy through the mud, treating her like a pariah and forcing her to announce a temporary retreat from the scene.

Now, they were full of sympathy for her and clamoring to boycott Horizon Group.

The hate thrown at Brianna was just nasty. People were slapping random labels on her, accusing her of everything under the sun.

Brianna rubbed her forehead. ‘This trick always works for Darcy.

She got up early and was preparing breakfast in the kitchen.

Patsy, still in her pajamas and clutching her phone, rushed downstairs in a panic.

When she saw Brianna in the kitchen, apron on and cooking noodles, her voice shot up an octave. “Hey, Brianna, you can still calmly make breakfast? Haven’t you seen what’s blowing up online?”

Brianna didn’t react, just tested a noodle from the pot to see if it was cooked.

“Done,” she scooped the noodles out and added a fried egg on top.

Handing the bowl to Patsy, she said, “Eat while it’s hot, or it’ll stick together.”

Brianna looked totally unfazed, so Patsy relaxed a bit, thinking Brianna had some secret plan, and sat down at the table with her.

“So, what’s your plan?” Patsy asked.

“Not much I can do. I’m a suspect right now, so I can’t respond publicly,” Brianna said.

Patsy stared at her in disbelief. “You’re just going to let her show off like this?”

‘Of course not,’ Brianna thought to herself. ‘But I need to wait a bit longer. Let the drama build up. When the tables turn, it’ll be way more epic.’

“Let her show off for a couple of days,” Brianna said, savoring her breakfast. It had been ages since she’d had the time to cook for herself.

“What are you waiting for?” Patsy asked, not even interested in her food.

“Waiting until we know who her baby’s father is,” Brianna replied.

Patsy’s tense expression eased up, and she shot Brianna a look of approval. “You found out?”

“The private investigator did,” Brianna replied, cool as ever.

The private investigator discovered that Darcy had an unusual relationship with some guy.

Every so often, he’d get in touch with her, and every single time, their conversation would blow up into a heated argument.

The weirdest part was that right after each fight, Darcy would wire a pretty hefty sum straight into his bank

account.

Brianna had a private investigator look into this man. When she got the guy’s photo, she just smiled, totally getting it.

The guy had a handsome face, and honestly, he looked about 70 to 80 percent like Brandon. Right then, Brianna realized what Darcy was up to.

Whenever she clashed with the Meyers family, she’d always throw shade, hinting that the baby Darcy was carrying wasn’t even Brandon’s. That always made the Meyers family squirm.

And now, hardly any time had passed before Darcy rushed back, dragging Brianna into the mess and putting on this whole sob story.

The private investigator had already tracked down the guy who looked about 70 percent like Brandon. He was a classic kept man, living off his looks and women, neck-deep in gambling debts with no way out.

For the right price, he’d do anything anyone asked. All it took was naming a sum he couldn’t refuse, and he would come running to Klamdiff without a second thought.

As soon as Brianna and Horizon Group hit the trending charts, Clair gave her a call.

“Hey, Brianna, are you alright?” he asked, worry clear in his voice.

“I’m good, really. Don’t worry,” Brianna reassured him.

“Sorry, Brianna, I checked. There were no security cameras inside the venue,” Clair said, sounding frustrated. “But I did look into the guest list for that night, and Darcy wasn’t on it.”

Brianna raised an eyebrow.

When it came to rich folks’ parties, privacy was everything. If someone were not part of their world, not even a fly could sneak in.

‘So how did Darcy slip in without an invite?’ she thought.

“So how did she get in?” Brianna asked, puzzled.

“She used Tristan’s invitation card,” Clair admitted, hesitating a bit since he knew Brianna and Tristan were

pretty close.

“Tristan?’ Brianna froze for a second.

“Alright, thanks, Clair,” she said, then hung up.

‘How did Darcy manage to get her hands on Tristan’s invitation?’ she wondered.

After thinking it over, she guessed it was probably Nancy who handed it to her.

Just because Brianna’d put up with their crap again and again didn’t mean she was some pushover.

She called Tristan.

He answered quickly, but he sounded exhausted.

“Hey, what made you call me out of the blue?” he said, trying to sound casual.

Brianna noticed something was off in his tone and hesitated for a moment.

“Tristan, I need to ask you something,” Brianna said, skipping the pleasantries. “How did Darcy end up with your invitation to Dexter’s charity gala the other night?”

Tristan blew up instantly, a wave of dread crashing over him. “What? How did Darcy get my invitation? Did she mess with you again?”

Tristan’s voice was rising, clearly agitated. That just confirmed what Brianna had suspected all along.

“She fell down the stairs and lost her baby, and she’s saying I did it,” Brianna said.

“She used my invitation to get into the party?”

“Yeah, Clair checked. It was your invitation.”

“Hmph, since when did Nancy start getting mixed up with her?” Tristan snapped, his voice brimming with anger.

“I’ll sort this out and let you know,” he said.

“Don’t worry, I just wanted to give you a heads up. Your girlfriend isn’t as sweet as she pretends,” Brianna said.

Tristan knew full well Nancy wasn’t as innocent as she looked. No one disliked her more than he did.

If it wasn’t for helping Brianna get revenge on Unity Group, he never would’ve gotten engaged to Nancy.

He jumped out of his hospital bed, grabbed his phone, and checked the latest updates.

He opened his social media app. Darcy was blowing up everywhere. Without even thinking, he ripped out his IV and, still in his hospital gown, rushed straight to Pratt Group.

He was going to tell his father that Nancy was never good enough to marry into the Pratt family.

Noticing his mood shift, Darcy went right back to her old tricks, giving him that helpless, pitiful look with tears in her eyes.

“Brandon, did I make you mad?” she asked, swaying like she was about to collapse, as if she’d just been hit with the worst injustice ever.

“Why bother, Darcy,” Brandon’s voice was icy. “You know better than anyone whether your sister pushed you

or not.”
