Brianna had Blanca sent to Greenhill Asylum, making sure the staff gave her “special treatment” as a violent patient.
Holding Blanca’s phone, Brianna deliberately stepped outside the ward to say goodbye.
After passing through layer after layer of iron gates, they eventually reached the ward for violent patients. Every window and door was welded shut, and the corridors twisted like a maze, even a fly couldn’t escape.
Blanca realized she’d been played and might never leave this place. She slumped against the wall, in utter despair.
Brianna stood at the doorway, watching Blanca through the iron gate, and smirked.
Blanca was shattered. She didn’t even have the energy to hate anymore, just a dull sense of defeat and
numbness.
When she saw Brianna, she closed her eyes, resigning herself to whatever was coming.
Blanca asked, “Just tell me one thing. What did you do to my daughter?”
Brianna smirked and admitted, “I haven’t caught her yet.”
At that, Blanca sat up straighter, hope sparking in her eyes, and a hint of triumph flashed across her face. “I knew Darcy was safe!”
Brianna smirked lightly, shaking Blanca’s phone in her hand. “I’m curious too. Did she just run off to save herself, or will she come back for you?”
With that, she turned and walked away.
Blanca snapped, pressing herself against the iron gate and screaming. “You bitch, get back here! What the hell do you want?”
As Brianna’s footsteps faded away, Blanca cried out in panic, “Brianna, I was wrong! Please, I’ll do anything. Just let my daughter go. If you want, I’ll get on my knees and beg…”
One by one, the locks slammed shut, and Blanca’s desperate pleas were swallowed by the darkness deep within the ward.
After leaving the asylum, Brianna made her way to the retirement home. It was the top senior living center in Klamdiff, boasting beautiful grounds and first–class service.
In the elegant garden, some of the elderly residents played chess or chatted in small groups, but Jane sat alone in a chair, lost in thought, her face ashen and her eyes clouded with worry.
Brianna walked over and took her hand. “Grandma.”
Jane turned her head, her face empty. When she saw Brianna, she jerked her hand away, her eyes wide with

nothing but terror. “Why…why are you here? What do you want from me?”

Her son was dead, her daughter had run off, and Jane was living in fear every day. No one she could turn to
now.
Jane thought, “I never treated her well. She won’t let me off now.”
“Don’t be scared, Grandma,” Brianna said, her smile gentle. She handed Jane the paperwork from the police and the asylum, flashing a dazzling smile. “I’ve sent Blanca to the asylum. She’s never getting out.”
“Ah!” Jane cried out, the papers dropping from her hands and landing on the floor. She was shaking all over, unable to stop. “What do you want? What are you going to do to me?”
Still trembling, Jane tried to stand up and get away from Brianna.
Brianna grabbed Jane’s shoulders and pushed her firmly back into the chair. “Shh! Don’t be scared, Grandma. You’re my own grandma, why would I ever hurt you?”
Jane was even more terrified now, trembling all over like a leaf in the wind.
“Grandma, I promise you’ll have a comfortable life. Just tell me, where did Reese run off with Darcy?”
“I don’t know, I swear I really don’t,” Jane’s voice was shaky, almost crying.
Brianna watched Jane carefully, searching her face for any sign she was lying.
After a long moment, Brianna saw nothing but real fear and hopelessness in Jane’s eyes. ‘Maybe she really doesn’t know where Reese and Darcy went!‘
“Reese has houses abroad, right? Where exactly?” Brianna pressed.
Jane hesitated.
“Grandma, the second trouble hit, they left you behind. Are you really still going to stand up for them?” Brianna sneered.
Jane kept her lips sealed, stubborn as ever.
Brianna nodded, letting out a couple of dry chuckles.
“Back at the asylum, Blanca said she’d kneel and beg me to spare her daughter,” Brianna sneered. “But if things were reversed, do you think her daughter would ever kneel and beg for her?”
Tears were already glistening in Jane’s eyes. “Brianna, you’re a mother too. Our kids are literally flesh and blood. Please, have mercy on me!”
Brianna’s patience was wearing thin. She pulled her hand back and stood up straight.
“Whether you talk or not, I’ll find them. It’ll just take me a bit more time,” she sneered. “But what I really want to know is… with debt collectors after you and me waiting to settle the score, and not even a place to call home, they just ditched you. Doesn’t that make you angry at all?”

Of course Jane felt bitter, but she could only swallow it down and suffer in silence. She raised her hand to wipe away her tears.
Brianna continued, “Do whatever you want. If you don’t feel like talking, I’m not gonna push you. But you better think it over, how much are you willing to sacrifice for your so–called motherly love?”
With that, Brianna turned to leave.
“Wait,” Jane took a deep breath, bracing herself. She didn’t have many years left, and death was right around the corner. She just wanted to keep a little dignity before she went. “Reese has houses in Aroria, Drokvine, and Swegel.”
“Oh?” Brianna turned back, a smile playing on her lips. “Where exactly?”
Jane’s voice was thick with sorrow. “She’s got an apartment in Gurphis, a country house in Texam, and a small place in Gevlin, Swegel.”
Brianna nodded, about to head out.
“Wait,” Jane called out again. “Promise me you won’t break your word. I don’t have many years left. Please, spare me.”
Brianna put on a dazzling smile. “Don’t worry, I’m not someone who breaks her promises.”
With that, she headed out of the retirement home.
As soon as Brianna got in the car, she fired off the addresses to her private investigator. She was dead set on finding Reese and Darcy. She didn’t care what it cost, she’d pay whatever it took.
By the time Brianna got back to the city, it was almost dark. She walked into her place, about to take a shower, when her phone rang. It was an unknown number.
“Hello?” Brianna answered.
“Brianna, it’s Nancy. Are you free? I want to talk,” Nancy said, her voice gentle and sweet.
