Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 81

“I’ll talk! I’ll talk!”

Tessa blurted out before Mira could even finish her sentence.

“Miss Mara gives me an extra thousand dollars every month to watch your every move and report back to her. She also told me to make things up and complain about you to your parents and brothers…”

“Tessa, you’re dead!”

Mara, who had supposedly fainted, found a sudden burst of strength, lunging forward and tackling Tessa. She completely ignored the arm Mira had just broken.

Mira had achieved her goal. She didn’t even have to lift another finger; they would tear each other apart on their own.

He hadn’t been home at the time; by the time he returned, it was already over.

“Dad, Mira’s still in school. If she leaves the Mercer family, how is she supposed to get by?”

“There’s no use trying to persuade me. From now on, if she dies on the street, it has nothing to do with us.”

“Just get rid of her! It’s constant chaos with her around, there’s never any peace, don’t you see?” Lacey finally tore her eyes away from Mara, stopped crying, and spat the words out through clenched teeth.

Rachel couldn’t hold back. “Sir, you can punish me however you want, but you can’t just cast Miss Mira aside! She’s not even an adult yet, she’s still in school, she needs…”
