I'm not exactly opposed to the idea of a relationship."
"How much older is he? He always looks so capable and mature."
Liora asked, completely lacking a conversational filter.
"He's ten years older than me,"
Mira answered honestly.
"What?! A ten-year age gap, and you still said yes?"
Liora practically screamed.
Her outburst drew several curious stares from the nearby waitstaff.
Celine smacked Liora's arm. "Keep your voice down."
This was exactly why Mira knew better than to trust Liora with classified information. The girl had a heart of gold, but zero tact and a glaring inability to keep a secret.
"Compared to guys my own age, I prefer someone who's mature and grounded,"
Mira explained.
"I like older men too,"
Celine chimed in.
"Not me! I want someone my own age. Someone I can actually talk to and go crazy with."
That was Liora in a nutshell.
Mira pulled out the boxes she had prepared. "These are the souvenirs I brought back from the Javenaire Federation for you two."
"Oh my god, the new PearPhone 3GS! Thank you, Mira!"
"Wait, what were you doing in the Federation?"
Liora asked, momentarily distracted from the shiny tech.
"Just a vacation. I've never been out of the country before, so I wanted to see what it was like."
With Liora present, telling the whole truth was a massive security risk.
"Are you kidding me? Your coursework is brutal, and you have an entire corporation to run, but you still have time to go on vacation?"
Liora shrieked again.
"Academics have never been an issue for her,"
Celine sighed, lightly slapping Liora's shoulder.
"I love traveling. Honestly, what's the point of studying all day? Though it's definitely better when you have a hot guy to keep you company,"
Sienna drawled lazily.
She was the quintessential trust-fund brat, spending her days partying and blowing through cash. When she bombed her college entrance exams, her parents simply bought her way into a second-tier university.
Top-tier schools were too hard to bribe into, and they knew she didn't have the brains to keep up anyway.
"What are you talking about? Don't push your toxic lifestyle onto Mira,"
