Too Late To Love Me I Already Left With His Twins (Lydia and Dave) novel Chapter 148

Powder blue.

Muted blush pink.

Cream.

Silver accents.

And immediately something inside me settled.

“Oh.”

Tims noticed instantly.

“Yes,” she said smoothly. “This feels more like them.”

It really did.

Soft enough to feel magical.

Elegant enough to age well in pictures.

Still playful without becoming overstimulating.

“Silver accents create light reflection,” Tims explained while sliding another sample toward me. “Children respond emotionally to softness and shimmer more than overwhelming brightness. This palette feels dreamy instead of chaotic.”

I touched the silver fabric thoughtfully.

Aya would love the elegance.

Eli would love the reflective details because he was secretly a tiny magpie attracted to shiny things.

“This one,” I said quietly.

Tims smiled immediately like she already knew.

Then we moved to food.

And honestly?

That discussion alone nearly exhausted me spiritually.

“Children need familiarity,” Tims explained while reviewing menu samples. “Parents need quality. Your challenge is balancing both.”

“I refuse to serve dry chicken at my children’s birthday.”

“Excellent. We’re already aligned.”

We discussed mini sliders.

Pasta cups.

Fruit stations.

Tiny dessert tables.

Milkshake bars.

Then a separate elegant section for adults because apparently children’s parties now required networking opportunities for parents too.

Society had become ridiculous.

At one point Tims asked casually, “Do the children have favorite foods?”

I laughed immediately. 1

“Ava loves anything aesthetically organized.”

Tims blinked.

“That is not a food.”

“It is to her.”

So we built sections around curiosity.

There would be an interactive science station where the children could make tiny volcano reactions, slime experiments, magnetic puzzles, and glow in the dark chemical reactions supervised by actual science instructors because apparently children could accidentally create biological warfare if left unsupervised long enough.

Then came the “space corner” for Ava.

Soft projected stars across the ceiling.

Tiny telescopes.

Glow planets suspended from transparent strings.

A little “build your own galaxy jar” section where children could create glitter galaxies in glass bottles and take them home.

“Oh, Ava is going to emotionally ascend,” I murmured.

Tims laughed immediately.

“And Eli?”

1 smiled despite myself.

“For Eli, we need movement. Competition. Mild intellectual chaos.”

That statement somehow made perfect sense to both of us.

So she suggested engineering relay games, giant puzzle races, mini treasure hunts with coded clues, and interactive building stations where teams of children had to construct, towers using oversized foam structures before timers ran out.

“Children love feeling competent,” Tims explained while sketching notes quickly. “Especially analytical children. Activities that make them feel clever tend to stay in memory longer.”

God.

I loved this woman. 1
