Too Late To Love Me I Already Left With His Twins (Lydia and Dave) novel Chapter 194

Therapists really did know how to professionally ruin your emotional defenses.

“You said something important earlier,” she added. “You said Dave wanting honesty makes you feel like maybe he could still become a good father.”

I frowned slightly.

“I didn’t mean it like that.”

“Mhm,” she hummed knowingly. “But you still said it.”

Annoying woman.

I rubbed my forehead tiredly.

“I just don’t want confusion.”

“And honesty actually reduces confusion long term,” she replied calmly. “Especially when children eventually grow older and begin asking deeper questions.”

I stayed quiet.

Then finally asked the question sitting underneath everything else.

“What if he disappoints them?”

Dr. Sana answered almost immediately.

“Then they will have a mother strong enough to help them survive that disappointment.”

That one hit hard.

Because suddenly I realized something uncomfortable.

I trusted myself completely.

Maybe that was why I had controlled everything for so long.

Because even subconsciously, I believed I was the only reliable parent they had.

And maybe that belief had protected us.

But maybe now?

Attachment

Maybe now it was also trapping us.

Sana spoke again gently

And by the time we ended the call, I still did not feel fully certain.

But I felt calmer.

Less reactive.

Less defensive.

More… thoughtful.

Which honestly was probably the closest thing to emotional progress I was capable of right now.

After hanging up, I sat alone in silence again.

But this time the silence felt different.

Not heavy.

Just reflective.

And somewhere deep down, underneath all the fear and resistance and unresolved anger

I already knew I was probably going to say yes.

Reading History

No history.
