[Changing Room]
"This is getting far more interesting than I expected," Sal remarked as he helped Ivy adjust her costume before the next shot.
Since Lola had stepped out to discuss the storyboard with the creative director, the two finally had a chance to talk in private.
Ivy nodded.
"The more I look into it, the more convinced I am that both my father and Xander’s father uncovered something."
She lowered her voice.
"And whatever that secret was... it gave someone a reason to eliminate them."
Sal nodded thoughtfully.
"I’ve been following every lead you gave me."
He handed her a bottle of water before continuing.
"I checked orphanage records in case Luna had been admitted under her real name. I also searched hospitals and emergency records from that period."
He shook his head.
"Nothing."
"No admissions."
"No matching identities."
"No trace of either Luna or your father."
A flicker of disappointment crossed Ivy’s face.
She had hoped that if her father had escaped with Luna, they might have sought medical help after the fire.
At least then there would have been a record.
Instead...
There was nothing.
It was as though they had vanished from the world.
Sal noticed her expression and gently patted her shoulder.
"Don’t lose hope yet."
"No records can also mean someone intentionally erased their identities."
Ivy gave a faint nod.
"I know."
"It just means we’ll have to dig deeper."
Sal smiled.
"We’ve come this far."
"We’re not stopping now."
Before Ivy could respond, Sal suddenly remembered something.
"Oh, by the way."
"I heard Nora was detained for attempted murder."
The unexpected change in topic pulled Ivy from her thoughts.
She sighed.
"Yes."
"She attacked Olivia and Polly during a fight at a bar."
"They’ve filed charges against her."
"And after discovering she lied to them for years, neither of them intends to let the matter go."
Sal raised an amused eyebrow.
"So..."
"They finally found out she was never dating Aaron?"
Ivy couldn’t help laughing.
"That’s only part of it."
"Even after being detained, Florine tried to use the Emerson family’s name to intimidate everyone."
Sal frowned.
"And?"
"Taylor informed Xander."
"What did he do?"
A smile slowly appeared on Ivy’s face.
"He refused to help."
"He also warned Florine that if she ever used the Emerson family’s name for personal gain again, he wouldn’t let it slide."
Sal couldn’t hide the satisfaction in his eyes.
"Good."
"It’s about time he saw the Ford family for who they really are."
He looked at Ivy warmly.
"You’ve found someone who truly loves you, Raven."
Ivy’s smile slowly faded.
"He loves Ivy..."
She lowered her gaze.
"...not Raven."
Her voice carried a quiet sadness.
Sal’s expression softened.
He stepped closer.
"Raven."
"You are Ivy now."
He spoke gently but firmly.
"The woman standing before Xander..."
"The woman Leo loves..."
"The woman building a future with them..."
"...is you."
He smiled reassuringly.
"It doesn’t matter what name you were born with."
"What matters is the person you’ve become."
Ivy listened quietly.
She understood his words.
Logically...
They made perfect sense.
Yet the fear buried deep inside her heart refused to disappear.
What if one day the real Ivy returns?
What if everything I’ve built disappears overnight?
If Xander learns I’m Raven...
Will he still look at me the same way?
Or will he remember the woman who once pulled the trigger on him?
The thought made her chest tighten.
After a long silence, she spoke again.
"Xander..."
She hesitated.
"...asked me to marry him."
Sal’s eyes widened.
"What?"
Before he could say anything else—
"What did you just say?"
Both Ivy and Sal turned sharply toward the doorway.
Lola stood there, frozen in place.
Her eyes were wide with shock.
She looked as though she couldn’t believe what she had just heard.
Sal immediately walked toward the door.
"Miss Lola..."
He forced an awkward smile.
"When did you get back?"
Lola blinked.
"Just now."
She looked directly at Ivy.
"I only heard the last part."
"You said Mr. Xander Emerson wants to marry you."
The room fell silent.
Lola slowly walked over.
"Ivy..."
Her voice was filled with concern rather than curiosity.
"Is it true?"
Ivy opened her mouth to answer.
Before she could speak, Lola gently held both of her hands.
"You can’t rush into marriage."
Both Ivy and Sal looked at her in surprise.
