Aurora’s POV

The second I wake up, all I hear is screaming in my room. Not the dangerous kind the stupid kind.Jace–and–Leon–level, unholy banshee screeching.
“MERRY GRINCHMAS RORA! “I jolt upright so fast almost fly out of bed.Jace is on my left, shaking fistfuls of confetti like a deranged piñata.
Leon is on my right, blasting a party horn directly into my ear like he’s trying to summon demons.

I hit the floor with a dramatic thud.
“Ugh… my head…”
I groan, tangles in my blanket.
“Good morning to you too!”
Jace cackles.
Leon grabs the edge of my blanket and starts dragging me across the floor.
“Come on, up! Rise and shine, Cindy Lou!”
I cling to my nightstand for dear life.
“Just five more minutesssss-!”
That’s when the door opens.Raphael walks in.

burrito.
“Behold,” he announces proudly, “Aurora, the human sled.”
That’s when I hear Raphael’s voice break in as he raises his eyebrow again at Leon.
“Leonel Russo, don’t you dare-”
He dares.
He yanks me out of my room like I weigh the same as a grocery bag.
“LEON!!!” I shriek as my wrapped body scrapes across the hallway floor.
“It’s tradition!” he lies confidently.
“That is NOT a tradition-!”
“Since last year, hell yeah it is!” Jace cheers, running ahead like a hype man.Raphael is following behind us with his face in his hands.
We reach the top of the stairs.
Leon brightens.
“Perfect slope.”
