Lucas grinned. “What else am I going to do if you’re not training? Might as well tag along and join the celebration.”
With that, he turned to Edward. “You don’t mind, do you, Mr. Macdonald?”

“Not at all. Any friend of Arabella’s is more than welcome,” Edward replied warmly, then added, “But please, just call me Edward.”
“Then you should call me Lucas,” Lucas offered in return.
Edward gestured toward the seating area. “The ceremony is about to start. Shall we take our seats?”
“Sure,” everyone agreed and moved toward the rows of chairs.
“Edward, I’ve got to say, I’m impressed,” Lucas remarked, looking around. “For your first venture, you’ve really set this up nicely.”
“All the credit goes to Arabella. Without her, I probably wouldn’t have gotten this far,” Edward admitted candidly.
If it weren’t for Arabella’s help, he might have even been pressured to return to the family business back home.
Lucas‘ eyes lit up as he glanced at Arabella. “You’re full of surprises, aren’t you?”
Arabella simply offered a modest smile. “I just called in a few favors from some friends.”
“Friends?” Lucas frowned slightly, his mind immediately wondering if one of those friends was Matthew. Could it be him?
“Yes.” Arabella nodded, not mentioning Colton specifically. Given the current circumstances, it was better to keep his involvement quiet for now.
“Mr. Macdonald, it’s almost time. We’re ready for the official unveiling.” An assistant approached and whispered.
“Alright,” Edward acknowledged, then turned to Arabella. “Arabella, shall we?”
A soft smile touched Arabella’s lips. “Let’s go.”
The two of them walked over to the company’s new sign, each taking hold of one end of the ceremonial ribbon.
“Good afternoon, everyone. First of all, thank you all for being here today. Macdonald Capital is now officially launching and open for business… And now, without further delay, let’s welcome our Chair, Ms. Arabella Hamilton, and our CEO, Mr. Edward Macdonald, to unveil the company sign!”
As the emcee made the announcement, Arabella looked at Edward in surprise. “Edward!”
“It’s only fitting,” Edward said calmly with a gentle smile. “Come on, let’s do the honors.”
With that, Edward gave his end of the ribbon a light pull, ready to remove the draped cloth covering the plaque.
“I really can’t accept this title,” Arabella said quietly. “But I don’t want to miss the moment either. Let’s unveil the sign first.”
Then she pulled her end of the ribbon as well.
Together, they tugged, and the draped cloth fluttered to the ground.

The bold, engraved letters spelling “Macdonald Capital” were now clearly revealed.
Looking at the prominent sign, Arabella smiled, her eyes filled with satisfaction.
Applause broke out around them. Ethan and Lucas walked over, smiling warmly.
“Congratulations! Well done!”
“Thank you!”

After exchanging a few more words, Edward turned back to Arabella. “Arabella, without you, this company would never have gotten off the ground. You absolutely deserve the title of Chair.”
“Edward, I only helped with the initial funding. Building and running this company is all on you,” Arabella insisted. She couldn’t possibly accept the formal leadership position.
“Arabella, please don’t refuse. You’ve done so much for this venture, all for my sake,” Edward persisted.
Arabella shook her head gently, her smile soft but firm. “Edward, if you really feel you owe me something, then just promise me one thing.”
“What’s that?” Edward asked.
Arabella’s expression grew more earnest. “Promise me you’ll focus wholeheartedly on doing what you truly want to do–without letting anyone or anything distract you or force you off course. Can you do that?”
“Arabella…” Understanding her meaning, Edward was deeply moved.
“If you can commit to doing your very best in this, that’s thanks enough for me,” Arabella said, her gaze full of encouragement.
Edward nodded firmly. “Okay, I promise. I’ll see it through.”
Pursuing his own path had never been easy. His own family hadn’t supported him–they had even tried to stand in his way.
On the surface, Arabella was asking for a promise, but in reality, she was giving him her complete and unwavering support.
“That’s more like it!” Arabella sighed in relief, her smile warming. “Go for it! I believe in you!”
“I’ll work hard. I won’t let you down,” Edward vowed.
“Edward, you’ve never let me down. I’ve always been proud of you,” Arabella said softly. Growing up in the Macdonald household, Edward had been the only one to show her consistent, genuine kindness.
“Really?” Edward grinned, scratching the back of his head a little sheepishly. “But back then, I was always the sickly one. You were the one looking after me most of the time.”
“We looked out for each other,” Arabella replied playfully, her tone light
Watching them share this happy memory, Ethan understood just how close Arabella and Edward were. It was clear Edward had been a significant source of support for Arabella over the years.
Ethan smiled warmly. “In that case, let me offer one more congratulatory gift”
“What?” Edward was taken aback. Another gift?

“I recently reviewed a promising investment proposal. The metrics and fundamentals look solid. I’ll have my assistant send over all the documentation later. You should consider it for your first investment,” Ethan explained.
“A project… for me?” Edward was completely stunned, momentarily speechless.
Arabella clarified, “Ethan works in finance. He has a sharp eye for investments. Any project he recommends is definitely worth a serious look.”
“It’s not that I doubt it. I just never imagined an opportunity like this would come my way so soon,” Edward admitted, still awestruck. His company had just opened its doors, and already a potential deal was being handed to him.
“If Arabella believes in you, then I do too,” Ethan said simply.

I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
