“Really?” Dylan sounded surprised.

“Absolutely.” Harper nodded emphatically, her impatience evident.

Dylan glanced ahead and asked, “So are we still going to Edward’s office? There’s no need now, right?”

That was right–they had come today specifically to give Edward a hard time.

“Hmph, it’s because of him that our engagement party was delayed. I have to go see him.” Harper said, her tone petulant.

“But didn’t you just say your mom agreed to host it?” Dylan replied.

Harper pouted, a proud tilt to her chin. “Well, it was his fault before. Mom said she wanted to postpone it, and I was upset for days

because of that.”

Regardless, she was determined to go today. She also planned to seize the opportunity to pressure Edward into shutting down his company and coming back home for good–to cut the problem off at the root.

Dylan stayed silent. Harper turned her head to look at him. “Honey, you don’t want to go with me?”

“Of course I do. If you want to go confront him, I’ll be right there with you,” Dylan said, wrapping an arm around Harper’s shoulders.

Harper was instantly mollified. “Honey, you’re the best.”

Dylan guided Harper forward, pointing down the street. “Let’s go. It’s not far from here anyway.”

“Hmph, this time I’m going to make Edward understand the consequences.” Harper gritted her teeth.

He couldn’t even tell who his real sister was–well, today she was going to make it painfully clear.

The two arrived at Macdonald Capital.

Looking at the company sign, Harper frowned in distaste. “After everything our family did for him, and this is how he repays us? How does he have the nerve to use that name?”

“What else would he call it?” Dylan didn’t understand her point.

Harper snorted coldly. “He’s so biased toward Arabella, why doesn’t he name it after her instead!”

“Doesn’t Arabella share the last name Macdonald?” Dylan countered.

“She’s not even a real daughter of our family,” Harper sald scornfully. “Arabella doesn’t even dare mention her original family it’s probably too shameful. You have no idea, my dad said Arabella’s birth parents and brother don’t even have propel jobs.”

Dylan fully agreed. “Then she really has no place to bring it up.”

“No wonder you’ve always said Arabella latched onto Edward for a reason. Seems like you were right,” Dylan added,

“Hmph, it’s just my brother, that fool, still being taken in by Arabella!” Harper fumed.

Gritting her teeth, she pulled Dylan along. “Come on, let’s go in and give him a piece of our minds.”

As soon as they entered the lobby, they were stopped by the receptionist.

“May I help you?” the young woman inquired politely.

“Move aside, I’m here to see my brother,” Harper said impatiently.

The receptionist’s professional smile tightened slightly. “And who is your brother?”

“My brother is Edward Macdonald. Now move, I’m going in,” Harper said, giving the receptionist a sharp shove to the shoulder.

Caught off guard, the receptionist stumbled back several steps, her hip colliding painfully with the edge of a desk.

“Security! Escort these two out, please!” A stern, familiar voice cut through the lobby.

Harper and Dylan turned around, their expressions immediately darkening. “Arabella! What are you doing here again?”

“Is there a reason I can’t be here?” Arabella raised a cool eyebrow in return.

Harper jabbed a finger toward the company logo on the wall behind the receptionist. “See that? This is Macdonald Capital. You’re a Hamilton now. You don’t belong here.”

“So what?” Arabella shrugged with an infuriating indifference. “Even so, I have every right to be here. You, on the other hand, are causing a disturbance.”

She then turned her gaze to the security guards who had just arrived. “They just assaulted your employee. Please call the police.”

“You wouldn’t dare!” Harper’s face paled, then flushed with anger as she glared furiously at Arabella.

“Why on earth wouldn’t I?” Arabella shot back, her eyes holding a clear trace of disdain.

Seeing the unwavering resolve in Arabella’s expression, Harper felt a flicker of panic. She knew if pushed, Arabella was fully capable of following through.

“What’s going on here? Why is it so noisy?” Edward’s voice sounded as he emerged from a hallway.

“Edward! Finally! Your receptionist was physically blocking me from coming in. Fire her. Right now.” As soon as Harper saw Edward, she immediately launched into her accusation.

“Mr. Macdonald, I was just-” the receptionist began, looking flustered.

Edward held up a hand. “It’s alright. You can return to your desk.”

“No,” Arabella spoke up firmly, stopping him.

“Arabella, when did you get here?” Edward was somewhat surprised.

He had been focused on Harper’s loud complaints and hadn’t noticed Arabella standing near the entrance.

“I just arrived,” Arabella said, striding over. She pointed at Harper. “She just assaulted your employee. We can’t just let that go.”

“Assaulted someone?” Edward’s brow furrowed.

Arabella leveled a cold look at Harper. “First, you will apologize to her. Then, you are responsible for any medical expenses”

“She was deliberately blocking me, and I’m supposed to apologize?” Harper’s face was white with outrage. Arabella was just trying to humiliate her!

“Doing her job is her responsibility. You putting your hands on her is an entirely different fact.” Arabella’s gaze had turned icy, her voice laced with frost.

It was clear this difficult woman really was Edward’s sister. Offending her would only mean trouble later.

“See? Even she says it’s not necessary,” Harper said, a smug look returning to her face.
