Liam suddenly went pale, his breathing labored. “Liam, what’s wrong?” Sophia’s face drained of color in fright. She couldn’t hold back a cry, “Arabella, please–check your uncle, hurry!”
“Frank, Ethan, help get him onto the hospital bed.” Arabella pushed everything else aside and immediately began emergency care. After ten minutes of urgent treatment, she finally let out a slow breath, wiping the sweat from her forehead. “He’s stable now.” Sophia looked as though she might break down. “Arabella… thank God you were here. I wouldn’t have known what to do.”
“It’s alright. The important thing is Uncle is okay now,” Arabella reassured her gently.
Then she turned to Orion. “Mr. Lawson, could you arrange for a nurse to stay with him?”
“Right away,” Orion responded quickly, already signaling an assistant to arrange for a private caregiver.
“Dr. Hamilton truly lives up to her reputation,” one of the observing physicians murmured. “Watching her work is something else.”
“Anyone else would’ve rushed him to the ER and hoped for the best.”
“Never thought I’d get to see Aletta handle a case right in front of me. What a privilege.”
The doctors exchanged quiet, admiring remarks.
Arabella glanced at the small crowd and frowned slightly. “Let’s clear the room, please. The patient needs quiet and space to recover.”
That snapped everyone back to attention. “Our apologies. We were so focused on your technique, we forgot ourselves.”
Having so many people in the room really wasn’t helping the patient rest.
Arabella shook her head. “During the emergency was one thing, but now he needs calm.”
“Understood. We’ll step outside.” The doctors began to file out.
“Wait.” Arabella stopped them, her tone serious. “Please keep what happened today completely confidential. Not a word to anyone.”
“You have our word,” they promised in unison.
“Good.” Arabella felt some relief.
She had no interest in public attention; her ordinary, quiet life suited her just fine.
Soon only Orion remained in the room.
“Dr. Hamilton,” he began cautiously, “would you ever consider practicing here at Kindwell? Name your conditions–we’ll make it
work.”
“I’m afraid that wouldn’t be possible for me,” Arabella declined politely.
“What about the occasional guest lecture?” Orion tried a step down, still hoping to secure some form of collaboration.

Arabella shook her head again. “To be honest, I don’t believe occasional talks would make much real difference
Orion couldn’t hide his disappointment. Having Arabella at Kindwell was a dream scenario.

“How about this,” Arabella offered after a moment’s thought. “If the hospital ever faces a critical case no one can handle, you can call me. I’ll come in as a consulting specialist.”
That was the most she could agree to.
Orion’s eyes lit up immediately. “That would be perfect! Thank you!”
Even that arrangement was more than he’d hoped for.
“I’ll have someone contact you tomorrow to discuss consulting terms and draw up a contract,” Frank stated calmly but firmly.
“No need for lengthy discussions. Just send the contract over–I’ll sign it,” Orion insisted. If Arabella was willing to come, he’d agree to anything.
“It’s better to go over the details together,” Frank replied. “We can address any questions or requests up front. It’s smoother for everyone.”
They weren’t the type to impose, and this was meant to be a positive arrangement for all.
Hearing that, Orion nodded. “Alright then. I’ll expect your call tomorrow.”
“Mm.” Frank gave a brief nod.
Orion glanced around. “I should leave you to it.”
He’d said what he needed to say. Overstaying would only intrude.
Besides, it was clear the family had matters to settle among themselves.
Once Orion stepped out, he found the other doctors hadn’t left–they were waiting eagerly just outside. “Well? Is she joining us?”
They were all hoping for a chance to work alongside the legendary Aletta. An opportunity like this was rare.
“She’s agreed to serve as a consulting specialist for extreme cases. But remember–this stays completely off the record. If word gets out, don’t come to me about the consequences,” Orion warned sternly.
He might not know exactly who Arabella and her family were, but he knew enough to recognize they weren’t people to cross.
More importantly, if Aletta were upset and withdrew her offer, the loss would be enormous.
“Understood,” the group murmured in agreement.

I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
