Arabella glanced back at Matthew, her expression turning serious. "With an injury like this, if you change the dressing regularly, it should form a scab within three days. If it doesn't, it means you weren't keeping up with it. If that happens, find yourself another doctor—don't come back to me."
She really couldn't stand patients who didn't follow instructions. They drove her up the wall.
What she didn't get was why he wouldn't just take better care of himself.
"Yeah, I slipped up today. But I'll remember from now on," Matthew assured her. Then he raised an eyebrow and gave her a faint smile.
Arabella shot him a look. "What's so funny?"
He wasn't taking care of his wound, and here he was grinning!
Matthew's smile softened. "I was just thinking how pretty you looked a second ago."
"You've got to be kidding me." Arabella rolled her eyes. "Giving medical instructions? What's pretty about that?"
She was just being firm so her patient would cooperate. Wasn't that obvious?
"No," Matthew shook his head lightly. "You looked like a girlfriend giving me a hard time."
Really pretty. Actually, kind of adorable.
"Watch your—" Arabella suddenly recalled how she'd been staring at him blankly earlier, and felt her cheeks warm.
Flustered, she straightened up and corrected him, "Who's your girlfriend? I'm just your primary care physician."
But then Matthew's tone shifted, a little more intent. "You could be, if you wanted."
Arabella's eyes widened in surprise. Her mind went momentarily blank.
It was like she'd heard him, but the words hadn't fully registered.
Seeing her shocked—and somewhat resistant—expression, Matthew's eyes dimmed for a second.
Then he returned to his usual businesslike demeanor. "Dr. Hamilton, once you've reviewed the acquisition proposal, feel free to reach out anytime."
Looking at his professional posture, Arabella felt a complicated mix of emotions.
There was relief, but also a faint trace of disappointment.
Wait—why would she feel disappointed?
She shook her head, pushed down the odd feeling in her chest, and nodded. "Alright. I'll discuss it with Ethan when I get back."
Of course, she already knew Ethan would agree.
It was a solid proposal, after all, and it would be good for the company's growth.
"Mm." Matthew gave a single nod.
"I'll head out then." Arabella picked up the folder, turned, and left.
Matthew watched her go, his gaze deepening.
"Mr. Stewart." Andy's voice came from nearby.
Matthew looked up. Seeing Andy's concerned face—like he wanted to say something but was holding back—Matthew said evenly, "Get back to work."
After a pause, Andy replied quietly, "Yes, sir."

The readers' comments on the novel: True Heiress Returns to Her Unemployed Rich Family (Arabella)
This has been going for too long in circles. Reached ch 654 and it's still the same twists no changes at all. Other novels reaches it's climax not beyond ch 300 and it's more captivating. Don't let us readers abandon this....
Update please...
I started the novel with great interest. In the beginning the storyline was captivating. Then I feel that the more the story advances, the twists were no longer great. Moreover I don't like Arabella s personality, cold, distant......
