The night before our wedding, my fiancé threw what he called a “bachelor party” – having sex with eight mistresses in
our bedroom.
I walked in on the whole mess and lost it.
I went after every single one of them, and just as I was about to slap the last girl, he stepped in front of her, his face
dead serious.
“Back off, Lindsay Chase. The others, fine. But not her.”
“Why the hell NOT?”
I sneered and kicked the bitch straight down the stairs.
Vincent Foster personally had me arrested. Three years in prison.
The day I’m released, I see Vincent pushing a wheelchair with that familiar pathetic face sitting in it.
“Look, That mess three years ago? My fault. But the engagement stands.”
Bianca Rose looked at me with tears.
“Three years ago, you pushed me down the stairs and I broke my leg. Vincent felt so guilty, he’s been taking care of me ever since. Don’t worry–I’ve booked my flight. I’ll be leaving first thing tomorrow.”
I stared at her slightly swollen belly and let out a cold laugh:
“Perfect.”
The bitch I failed to kill three years ago? Her time’s finally up.
Hearing my words, Bianca’s eyes welled up as she gently touched her belly:
“Baby, don’t blame Mommy for all the crap you’ve been through. It’s all Mommy’s fault.”
“Take one last look at Daddy, sweetheart. This might be the last time we ever see him.”
Her voice was trembling, sobbing like she was at Vincent’s funeral.
And Vincent? He was eating it up completely.
He tenderly wiped away her tears and turned to me:
Chapter 1
“Lindsay, I screwed up three years ago, okay? But I promised you a wedding, and I keep my promises.”
“But Bianca’s pregnant–she can’t handle traveling right now. The baby’s innocent in all this. And you’ve always wanted to be a mother, right? How about she stays until after the delivery, then we can… transfer custody to you?
Wouldn’t that work?”
I stared at Vincent. That same dead–serious expression he’d worn when he had me arrested for her.
“Sure. Sounds great.”
“Lindsay, those three years really did you good. You’re so much more understanding now.”
Vincent smiled warmly and scooped Bianca up right in front of me, carefully placing her in what used to be MY
passenger seat.
I smiled back.
Perfect. Better to keep her close anyway–saves me the trouble of hunting her down later.
Back at what used to be Vincent’s and my place, my bedroom was unrecognizable.
The whole thing had been redecorated in some gaudy French princess style I absolutely hated. The closet, the vanity–every trace of me had been erased.
And there by the window? A wooden crib.
I could tell immediately–Vincent had built it himself.
Everything was ready to go. He never planned on sending her away.
When Bianca saw my narrowed eyes, she actually shivered and stammered:
“P–please don’t be mad at me! Vincent only brought me here because pregnancy is so hard… I had no idea this was
your room! I’ll pack my things and move to the guest room right now–please don’t hurt me…”
She acted all terrified, trying to get up but collapsing because of her “injured” leg.
Vincent immediately scooped her up again, cooing softly:
“Bianca, don’t be so hard on yourself. I saved this room especially for you. Lindsay wasn’t using it anyway.”
He turned to me, explaining.
“Lindsay, you can see her leg’s messed up–she can barely move around. And she’s pregnant. This room gets the best sunlight, perfect for the baby. Just let her have it for a few months…”

Vincent used to mess around with other women, sure. But he never let them get in my face like this–never let them
take what was mine.
