Twenty-Six receipts of betrayal Novel novel Chapter 66

**Airport, VIP Lounge.**

Sean looked haggard, dark circles carved deep beneath his eyes. But they burned with urgency.

Just thinking about seeing me soon swept away all his exhaustion.

As he headed toward the gate, the last person he wanted to see appeared at the entrance.

Charlotte stood there, pale and holloweyed, holding Nathan in her arms. Her eyes were swollen from crying.

Sean Winters!

She called out to him.

Sean stopped. He turned slowly, his face a mask of stone.

What are you doing here?

Charlotte walked toward him, Nathan clinging to her, her voice breaking.

Sean, you can’t leave.

Look at Nathan. He’s only five years old. He needs his father!

Nathan seemed to sense the tension. His little lip trembled, and he started crying.

DaddyDaddy, hold me

Sean’s gaze dropped to his son’s tearstreaked face. For a split second, something flickered in his eyes.

But only for a second.

Seeing the hesitation, Charlotte lunged forward, trying to grab his arm.

Sean, I’m BEGGING you. Please stay.

How can you abandon two children? How can you leave them fatherless?

We won’t get divorced. I won’t ask for anythingjust stay. Please, just stay with us

Her words trailed off under his cold, unyielding stare.

Chapter 11

Sean’s expression was harder than she’d ever seen it.

Charlotte Vanderbilt, I love her.

I love her with all my life!

Charlotte’s knees buckled. She nearly collapsed.

Sean’s eyes didn’t waver.

No one is going to stop me from finding her.

Not

you. Not the kids. Not anyone in this world.

He stepped past her and walked toward the gate without looking back.

“”Sean Winters!

Charlotte’s voice cracked into a desperate, guttural scream.

You fucking ASSHOLE!

You’ll regret this! You’ll regret it for the rest of your life!

Sean didn’t slow down. Not even for a second.

*Regret?*

The biggest regret of his life was letting go of the one he loved for the sake of gain.
