Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 130

“Okay, I’ll wait.”

Madeline hung up the phone with a sharp click.

“Madeline, what’s going on?” Cody asked, noticing how worried she looked.

“Julian’s got my friend. I have to go back.” Madeline moved over to Casey, glancing at Miles who was still pinned to the floor. “I’ll go back with you. Casey, let him go.”

Casey narrowed his eyes, his face dark and cold. “What are you talking about?”

“My friend is with Julian. I can’t just leave her.”

“What does that have to do with you?” Casey’s stare was icy. To him, Madeline came first. No one else mattered. The idea of her risking herself for someone else just didn’t sit right with him.

“I can’t just let her go.” Madeline couldn’t stand the thought of both sides fighting until they all lost.

Casey realized how determined she was. His face went hard and cold as stone. He glared at Miles, then straightened up with a huff.

Miles coughed, pulling himself off the ground. He looked at Madeline, gesturing for her to go ahead. “Ma’am, Noah will be coming with us too.”

Before he could finish, Casey snapped his fingers. The helicopter, already waiting, rose into the air.

Miles’s eyes narrowed and he took a few tense steps forward.

Casey glanced at him with a wicked grin. “If you want, try shooting the helicopter down.”

But if the helicopter went down, Noah would never make it. Miles knew it. He stood there, helpless, watching the helicopter disappear.

He was just about to call Julian when Madeline spoke up. “Let’s go. Take me back. That’s enough for your report.”

It was dim all around them, and from where she stood, Madeline couldn’t see his expression. He just stood there, then raised his hand and beckoned to her. “Come here.”

His voice was deep and rich, tempting in a way that made her skin crawl. To Madeline, it sounded like the devil calling her name.

She was quickly brought onto the yacht. She looked around, but only saw Julian and his bodyguards. Brenda was nowhere in sight.

“Where’s Brenda? What did you do to her?”

Julian smiled and pointed to the restless sea. “You took too long. As punishment, I had her sunk.”

The cold wind off the water slapped Madeline’s face. She stared at the waves, fear crashing over her.

She glared at Julian. Then, without even thinking, she dived straight into the sea.
